Through a bedroom door of dormitory there were two girls. One girl was sitting on a
chair and typing some message on her laptop. She got charming pale blue eyes that
matched with her dark eyebrows and pink lips. Her long dark brown hair was spread
covered her back. Her tan skin was bright by a lamp that shining over it. The other girl was
lying on her bed and tries to sleep. It seems so hard for her to do that because a sound of
fingers that pressing against the keyboards on the other was very annoying. At her limits she
pulled a pillow that covers her head out and said with a voice that quite irritated.
Can you please stop that, Andrea?
The other girls stop typing and twist her chair facing the other girl whos got
charming light green eyes with a long blonde hair. Her skin was very white even there was
no light shining on her.
Stop doing what Katy?
Andrea a girl with dark brown hair facing with Katy a girl whose known to have long
blonde hair.
Stop pressing of keyboard that its annoying me, Katy said By the way, tomorrow
our cleaning schedule will tomorrow remember?
Yes, mom, Andrea replied I will just work on my composition contest, its almost
done and tomorrow is due date remember? The gratuity is about 995.3GBP for first place
and if won this it would help my parents a lot.
Andreas sound is full of hope she has been trying hard for this

I know you can do it, Im sure you can do it, truly and are you done? Katy said with
warm and sincere smile which seem to make Andrea calmed down

I think you can continue it tomorrow, what date is the deadline again? Katy asked
8 March from 4 PM, Andrea said
Then thats find you can send it on time But right now, you need to get your brain
rest either do I, alright? Katy said

Both of them were laughing and in a few minutes a dim light in the room was
completely off and the whole room stay silent until dawn.

Andrea looked very serious in the essay topic is about How you and your best friend
met actually there were other 9 topics for her to choose. But the reason she chose this
because its a Katys birthday gift. Andrea figured out this plan since she saw the
announcement so if front her lab top because she didnt know what shes going to write
next? If she could win the first place she can get the money from her parents and she can
read her essay through school radio. (Its kind of culture of this school that the winner must
read their essay to all by students and teacher). But Andrea felt pleased about this it fit her
plan; she wanted to express her feeling about her best friend Katy.

Andrea recalling about her first met with Katy. She remembered that their first met
was the first day of class of 10 grade. She was quite different because she the only students
that come from other country and obviously she got tan skin. While she was introduced
herself in front of the class none of the students really listened to her. Some of them doing
their stuff, some chitchat and Andrea got 90% sure that it was about her. But she observed
that one of 20 students did listen to her and of course it was Katy. Both Katy and Andrea
studied in the same class, they sat together, theyre roommate and most important they
were best friend. Katy is English which came from a rich family, but shes not even
arrogant, socialized and loves to be just like normal students, she wanted to take care of her
life by herself. For Andrea she is polite and kind, but shes not weak, shes got faithful heart.
Even Andrea and Katy were completely different, but both of them can be together. For
Andrea Katy was the first one who accepted the way she is, the one who truly understand
her and can be trusted. She cant imagine whats going to be if she didnt meet Katy.
Hey, are you typing your essay?
Clearly voice of Katy seems to fade all of Andreas thought away. She found Katy
stands behind and uses those curious eyes staring at her laptop screen. Andrea immediately
shut down her laptop screen.
Why not, are there a secret? Katy asked with censorious voice
Uh its not done yet, just that Andrea said while holding her laptop.
The reason that Andrea cant let Katy see her essay is because its a surprise
and beside she lied that she wrote about How education important to you?

Alright. But dont get caught remember Ill keep my eyes on you, Katy said
with Tricky voice thats make Andrea feel adventurous but suddenly Katy change her
attitude
Ha Ha Ha Im just joking no matter what you wrote Im pretty sure thats its going
to be nice and How is it going? Katy asked
Well, Im still thinking of an idea and a word, Andrea said, I want to make it
refined and profoundly
Hmm I think you should ask advice from Mrs. Brown, Katy replied
You mean Mrs. Matilda Brown linguistics professor you know that shes very strict
and censorious if shes not like my essay she might tear it into pieces, Andrea said
She seems very freak out with her voice
Hey, thats gone too far shes not that bad... Yeah, you right, shes very strict and
censorious, but Im pretty sure shes not gonna tear your paper apart, Katy said with
trembling sound
While controlling herself not to laugh at her friend attitude
Can you come with me tomorrow? Andrea asked and almost begs
Sorry tomorrow I have a meeting with the student council and administrator
about essay award Yes, I forget to tell you all that Katy is one of the student council for a
girl with confidence and intelligence like Katy. Its not that hard for her to be one of them.
Really. Hhhhh Andrea sighed
Youll be fine trust me be brave like your name, said Katy

What Katy meant was Andreas name she used to ask Andrea what is her name
meaning. It was Spanish names which mean brave. Andrea always said that she wanted to
be just like Katy but Katy said to Andrea that be herself was good enough.
Andrea smiled back, she seems to glitter
By the way Im very hungry shall we find something to eat? I heard that theres a
new caf open near our school, its looking very nice. You can continue to work on your
essay and I can fulfill my empty stomach with probably some chocolate cake or blueberry
pie and a cup of hot chocolate thats sound very nice!!! Katy said
Right now she looked very eager

While hurrying kept her stuff in bag pack, Then Katy neck Andrea and both of them
cheerful walking ahead the school gate. After they are eating Katy beg of Andrea heading
back to school because shes got a duty as student council to decorate the stage and
planning on essay announcement awarded date. So, Andrea needs to walk back to the
dormitory by herself.
In front of the room Andrea unlocked the key and she seems so exhausted. Actually the
dormitory was not that far away from school. It might because of her duties. Yes, if you
looked roughly Andrea might not have a lot of responsibility to take care of the public, but
as a bursar she got a lot of responsibility to take care of not only herself but also her family.
Thats right Andrea was a transfer student that was transferred from Mexico. At that time
her family got a problem about their business finances. Andrea familys used for rich and we
could almost call them a billionaire, but right now they were no different from normal

people. Peoples life was unpredictable who would believe that people who used to live in a
mansion right now they have to live in a rented house. Andrea couldnt see her parents
become weary without helping them and seems a little lucky that she found a free
scholarship for London high school and this could help reduce family charge. Andrea started
to read a book very hard and she succeeded. As the only daughter, Andreas parents
disagreed to let her studies outside the country, but as for Andrea as the only daughter she
must go. With her age this was the only thing that she could do. The good thing was the
scholarship provided her all of things, including books, uniform, accommodation, except
cost of living, but thats not exceeded her parents' ability to find it. Its been a year that she
hasnt met her parents they just contact each other by using Skype, Line or whatever thats
not fun because its going to take very high cost. Even Andrea wanted to go home so much
even she missed her parents that much she couldnt go back.
Andrea sighed and grabs a laptop that lay beside her and opened it. She found that
she received an email which was from her parents. She felt very excited every time from her
parents even it as usual, she hurried opens it. When her pale blue eyes contact with a
letter, she quickly read through it
Dear sweet Andrea
Long time no see, Dada and mama really miss you every single day. How are you
doing? About your studies is it get harder? Do you make some friends there? If you do, I
hope they are good friends and never lose them. I know that you have a very hard time
darling, but we believe that our sweet daughter can get through it. Sorry that this time we
cant talk through an email for long. We sorry to tell you that this summer you couldnt
come back home because Dada and mama got some problems right here, But dont worry

we will be fine just focusing on your studies. Until we can get through this, please stay there
for a while. No matter what please remember that youre so loved for us, we will miss you.

Andreas stayed silent, she staring at the monitor liked she could look through it.
Seems like she was not realized that there are teardrop flowing out of her pale blue eyes,
there was no need to guess what happen to her parents there must be some sort of
problem about money again. From last year at the end of the second semester her parents
will send a ticket for her to go back home and for this year they cant send it which mean
she has to wait until next year.
Andrea lay down on her bed again tried to let all of things in her head go. She felt
like the weight of the world was on her shoulders, she didnt want to acknowledge of
anything anymore, at least right now.
Lunch time next day, Andrea stood in front of the door which had the name tag of
the owner Mrs. Martilda Brown . Yes, right now she stood in front of Mrs. Martilda Brown
and of course shes here to let Mrs. Martilda to check her essay. Andrea considered going
inside or not. Right now she looks very nervous. At last Andrea reaches out her hand to
knock the door, but suddenly the door is open. In front of her is a woman age around 50.
Shes wearing glasses and black suit that make her look fatter. She glances her sharp eyes to
Andrea.

Whats your business here young lady? Im going out to drink some coffee,
Mrs. Martilda said with a slack sound
Uuuu Do you mind if I would want you to check my essay Ive heard you are
very profession about it, Andrea asking with struggle voice
Well as long as its not disturbing my 50 minutes break thats fine, Martilda said
Yes, miss no more than 10 minutes, Andrea said with cheerful sound
In the Mrs. Martilda office there are a lot of books and documents sent as a regular
on the shelf and for her desk, its very clean and clear and there is a basket for students to
turn in their work. In front of Andrea is Mrs. Martilda whos sitting on a chair forward here
and staring attentively at her laptop screen.
Andrea tried to stay calm while Mrs. Martilda checking her essay. At last she moves her eye
contact with Andrea.
From the whole things that youve written, about your friends is very nice such a
very beautiful memory, both of you are a very good friend but who care about this, said
Mrs. Martlda
After Andrea heard the last sentence she was stunned with feared.
I mean everyone has a memory about their love ones what you have written was
nothing more than a child's story you need to add some more thing to make it interesting
fact, Mrs. Martilda said while setting her glasses.
Right now your glass has been just like empty glass, it has no water. You still have a
chance until tomorrow before 16:00PM Good luck with that

Oh! Do excuse me Its already 10 minutes now, I got only 40 minutes for lunch
Mrs. Andrea said and immediately left the room.
Andrea stayed sitting on a seat not even move. Her head is blank the only word that
she could think of What should I do? The way Mrs. Martilda said was destroyed all her
hope. Its not possible to change her essay right now. Because it was finished what she
should do right now is just correct grammar.
Andrea slowly walked away from a chair while she walks through Mrs. Martilda desk,
she saw an essay paper which got the same topic as her. The name of the writer was
Romilda Gray She won the essay first place last year.
Andrea immediately grabs the paper. She thought that if she could know the details
of this essay, she sure that she would win this. Right now she is thinking of taking the paper
from the room.
Its fine, I just borrow it, I just to know the way Romilda wrote and I will return it
later, Andrea talked to herself.
But deep down she knew it no different from cheating and stealing. This is what a
coward does!!
While shes going to leave the room. She recalled Katy sound in her head
Youre going to take essay competition? Katy surprised
Yes, If I could make it, I would be able to help my parents a lot," Andrea replied
I cant wait to see that day! Katy said with cheerful sound

The day you won the first place, I just cant wait to read your essay Katy said
Well, it is not going to be that good, Andrea replied
Hey If you dont the other to look down upon you Katy said you should start by not
look down upon yourself
Andrea stunned for a while, and then she releases her big smile
"You are brave more than you think, remember that use all of your own ability"
Katy said "if I were you I would try hard and if I failed I would not regret it."
"Yes, yes you right Ill try my best," Andrea said enthusiastically
After Andrea recalled Katys words, She slowly left the paper on the table and think
of herself how could she think of cheating other people's idea that what those timid people
did. But she was not she braved than she thought just like Katy said if I were you I would
try harder and if I failed I would not regret it Yes she will use her own ability to succeed it. If
she did that she couldnt feel proud of herself and if Katy and other people figured out
include her parents they must be very disappointed. She promised to herself that Katy
would be able to read her essay and she wont regret no matter the result would came out
what way.
