Bingham Farms Elementary
Responsible for the initial start up of the Oakland County program for
Birmingham Public Schools. Implement the High Scope Curriculum Key
Developmental Indicators (KDIs) that align with Common Core. Conduct
two home visits with each family to discuss development and provide
resources, as well as hold two family conferences with each family to
discuss COR (Child Observation Record) report and develop goals. Use
KDIs as a guide to plan and assess learning experiences and interact with
children to support and link learning throughout different developmental
areas. Evaluate KDIs childrens interests and development to create daily
activities that provide a balance of early literacy, movement, math and
science. Provide resources for specific skill development and opportunities
for parenting workshops, newsletters, and meetings.

Introduced to new intervention strategies. Assisted in planning and set up of grade level
meetings.
School-Community Collaborative Initiatives and Leadership

Family Literacy Night
Helped organize various engaging and interactive literacy activities for families to enjoy
together at school. The intention of this program was to promote literacy and encourage
family togetherness. Created an activity specifically targeting the needs of the students in
my class, but it was also made available to all children who attended.

Medicine That Matters
Participated in this service project by making and sewing pillowcases for children
suffering from cancer.
In-services, Workshops, Conferences
2015 High Scope Training Series at Oakland Schools Participant
Further training on the High Scope Curriculum. This five part session focused on: GSRP
Implementation, Active Learning, Adult-Child Interactions, Daily Routine (Plan-DoReview), Daily Routine (Small and Large Group Times), Key Developmental Indicators
and Learning Environment.
2015 Intensive Interventions for Addressing Challenging Behavior in Early
Childhood Classrooms- Participant
Learned strategies to support the success of all young children by practicing friendship
skills, respond empathetically to others and manage intense emotions.
2014 1-Day HighScope- Presenter
Presented to fellow colleagues in the district the components of the daily routine, plando-review process, and how to create lessons around the Key Developmental Indicators.
Demonstrated lessons from the Numbers Plus and Growing Readers curriculum
resources. Had colleagues create and plan through different small group activities based
around the two curriculum resources.
2014 Promoting Cultural Competence- Participant
Attended this workshop that offered information on how to create to a classroom culture
that is warm and welcoming for each child and his/her family. Learned strategies to

promote and respect differences and shared understanding.


2014 Tantrums and Meltdowns of Preschoolers: Understanding Temperament &
Emotional Development Participant
Learned strategies to help promote childrens social and emotional development in the
classroom. Focused on the importance for building a foundation for developing
relationships with children, colleagues, and families to develop high quality supportive
learning environments. Strategies were taught to help understand differences in
temperament traits and how to be supportive of all temperament types.
2014 Strategies to Close the Achievement Gap- Participant
Attended this workshop that provided information on different resources to help
accommodate differences in learners.
2014 HighScope NumbersPlus at Oakland Schools- Participant
Attended this two day workshop where we identified the five content areas of the
NumberPlus program, stated the importance of early math learning for preschool children
and learned how to apply scaffolding strategies to support individual childrens
development.
2014 Online COR Advantage Training- Participant
Attended this two day conference that provided different strategies for navigating the
online assessment tool. Explored new aspects of the website and learned anecdotal note
taking strategies.

Extracurricular Activities
2011-2013 Before School Tutoring Program BBC (Bingham Breakfast Club)
Created lesson plans for bi-weekly class of students who were struggling in math or
reading. Targeted group of students were selected based on test scores and teacher
recommendation. Provided small group instruction based on concepts that would support
those students.
2011-2013 After School and Summer Tutoring Program
Provided lessons and support for a student as he progressed from K-2nd grade. Worked
closely with his classroom teacher and parents to come up with a clear academic plan.
