FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT


AGENCY
Once the governor declares a state of emergency, he/she must formally
request federal assistance from the president.
Fema mission statement: support citizens and first responders to ensure
that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our
capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and
mitigate all hazards.

WHAT IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE?


FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE MAY BE AWARDED IF:
The insurance claim has been delayed for more than 30 days
The insurance settlement is insufficient to meet disaster-related needs
All additional living expenses provided have been exhausted

URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE


Each task force is made up of 31 individuals, four canines, and equipment
Fema will deploy three closest task force within 3 hours of disaster
proclamation
Each task force is to support state and local emergency responders

MOBILE EMERGENCY RESPONSE


Provide mobile telecommunications, operational support, life support, and
power generation on-site
