Industrial Revolution- SharkTank

In the United States today, over half of all new businesses will close their
doors within the first three years! If it is that hard to start a new business or
sell a new idea in the land of opportunity, imagine how difficult it would
have been in Europe during the Industrial Revolution! Turning an idea into a
product has always been an expensive task, which is why most inventors find
wealthy entrepreneurs who will finance the invention. You and your team will
have the opportunity to make a presentation to an entire roomful of these
wealthy investors (Mr. Newberry, Mrs. Bowen, or Mrs. Orlov). You and your
team must create a compelling presentation that highlights what your
product can do for society in the 1800s. You will present Wednesday,
February 18th.

Your presentation must include:

1. Business Plan (5 points) in your presentation
-your name
-name of your company
-company or product logo
2. Executive Summary (10 points)
- The executive summary is what a lender will read before they even
consider your idea. If your summary is well written and thought out, maybe
they will hear your pitch! This should basically detail why the entrepreneur
should invest in your idea (Due Monday!)
3.

Invention and Business Description (5 points)

- Overview of industry (what are things like without your product?)

- Mission Statement- what is the purpose of your product, what will it
accomplish to make life easier?
- Product Description- Provide a complete description, how does it work?
(Demonstration?)
4. Sales and Marketing (10 points)
- Customer Profile: Describe your target user of the technology.

- Customer Needs: Why does the customer need this product?

- Target market and demographics- will these be used by families,
businesses, individuals? What type of education, age, ect?
- Create a sample advertisement or promotion
Additional things you could do to get more buy in:
Design business cards to give out to the sharks
Design a website for your product
Create a sample of your product
Create a marketing song or advertisement
