1) How does Nietzsche characterize what he calls scholars and what he calls free spirits?
Why does he think that it is unhealthy for a society to over-valorize the former? Are his reasons
persuasive?!

2) How does Nietzsche suggest that humankind might escape from nihilism? How plausible is

3) In all three of the books weve read for this course, Nietzsche emphasizes the roles of
physiological systems (e.g. the human body) in the creation, maintenance, and destruction of
