LEARNING CONTRACT

This Learning Contract is made effective as of January 12, 2015, by and between Linda Mur,
Ph.D., of Center for Family Services ("CFS"), and Anitra D. Hampton, Intern in Human Services
Practicum Class, Wilmington University.

In consideration of the mutual promises set forth below, the parties agree as follows:

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. Beginning January 12, 2015, this Learning Contract


establishes objectives, activities, and outcomes for the practicum experience including but not
limited to:
Profession
Act as an advocate for clients in need of resources
Provide case management services to clients served by CFS
Organizational Context of Practice
Attend staff meetings
Attend staff in-service trainings
Assist in reviewing and updating agency policies and procedures
Interview administrators about CFS effectiveness measures
Become familiar with database of services related to CFS
Assessment
Read assessments completed by other helping professionals
Read/Assist in creating individual and family assessments
Assist with intake interviews with clients
Termination and Evaluation
Manage client cases through the entire helping process from assessment to termination
Apply agency policies of termination to helping process
Terminate client interventions according to accepted practice guidelines (e.g., summarizing
progress, empowerment, avoiding dependence, making appropriate referrals)
Solicit feedback from supervisor regarding practice skills
Policy
Read state and federal laws guiding services of CFS
Read state and federal laws pertaining to clients served by the CFS
Update Policy and Procedure Manual

Diversity
Attend training in cross-cultural skills
Seek assistance from supervisor in identifying personal biases or misconceptions related to
groups served by CFS
Knowledge and Communicaton Skills
Develop active listening skills
Seek feedback from supervisor in identifying any personal issues which could impact
relationship with staff or clients
Utilize supervision to identify areas of professional strengths and skills
Attend conferences and workshops on topics needed for professional growth Journal

RELATIONSHIP OF PARTIES. It is understood by the parties that Anitra Hampton is a student


with respect to this Learning Contract, and not an employee of CFS. CFS will not provide fringe
benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, or any other employee benefit during this
internship.

CONFIDENTIALITY. Anitra Hampton will not at any time or in any manner, either directly or
indirectly, use for the personal benefit of CFS, or divulge, disclose, or communicate in any
manner any information that is proprietary to CFS. Anitra Hampton will protect such information
and treat it as strictly confidential. This provision shall continue to be effective after the
termination of this Contract and upon termination, Anitra Hampton will return to CFS all
records, notes, documentation and other items that were used, created, or controlled by Anitra
Hampton during the term of this Contract.
