Mary Glass has been interning in the Foster Care Review Board Program since September 2, 2014. Marys
learning included: increase knowledge of child welfare policies, rules, laws and practice; preparing FCRB
reports, increase knowledge of state wide and community resources for families, increase knowledge of
acronyms, data entry as it relates to federal mandates and the program's annual report, develop questions related
to safety, well-being and timely permanence, interview interested parties to the case alongside FCRB board
members, identify barriers and advocacy issues regarding the permanency goal, participate in appeal
proceedings, engage in discussion/collaboration/consensus regarding recommendations and well-informed
decisions and attend stakeholder meetings and conferences. In her last semester, Mary is assigned in preparing
and finalizing FCRB reports disseminated to interested parties. Her participation in reviews and appeal
proceedings, supervision and practice helped her to transition into finalizing reports.
Mary has gained a good knowledge of how the program interacts with the systems the child and family is
involved with (i.e. child welfare, court, education, medical, mental health, etc.). Mary is a quick learner, is
intuitive and has easily blended into the program's environment and culture. I would not hesitate to hire Mary
Glass for a position in the program.
