Marae Hireage- Raiha recommended that hireage wasn't a preferred option

but suggested having whanau contributions to the marae. Anthony says that we
would need at least 500+ beneficiaries in which they would pay $6 a month
which is equivalent to $72 a year. The annual forecast budget to cover the
running cost of the marae is estimated between 30k-35k. At present the marae
is on hireage which means an agreement will need to be initiated. A
maintenance plan for the marae need to be developed if we are going to
consider having a caretaker for the upkeeping of the marae.
Trustees Report- Ngaro presented a general report from the last trustees
meeting that was held in December and highlighted some of the key issues that
was discussed as follows; 1. Marae Houses 2.Marae Hireage 3.Trustees
Representation- 1.Equal and fair representation of trustees 2. Marae Charter
needs to be reviewed and if there needs to be any amendments made to it.
Naming of the wharekai and wharenui- Mangu recommend that we have a
Wananga for the whanau to discuss this matter. Anthony recommended that he
would like to have feedbacks from everyone to bring back to the next marae
meeting in February for any matters that needs to be raised at the AGM in
April. The proposed date for the marae AGM has been confirmed for Saturday
4th April, a notice will be advertised in the local newspaper as it gets close to
the date to remind everyone.
