Laura is a gifted young teacher who has thrived in this rotary music classroom. She has built strong relationships with me and the students. She is valued member of our team, despite having only spent a
short time here.

Laura has a good intuitive sense of students' socio-emotional and learning needs and is able to take
the cue from me and other colleagues (ECE, co-teachers) to accommodate the needs of different
kinds of learners. She is very nurturing and treats all students with respect.

Laura is always punctual for class and for yard duties. She shows initiative and independence in her
lesson planning. She is a great team player in team-teaching and in co-curricular situations. She has
taken the initiative to talk to many colleagues and visit many classrooms in the school.

She takes advice well and can implement it right away.She also shows excellent observation skills she watches my teaching and can adopt many strategies seamlessly in her lessons.

Laura takes excellent care with her lesson planning. Her lesson plans are detailed. She is always
willing to confer with me in order to improve her lesson designs.Her planning of the learning
environment is highly effective (group division, use of instruments etc). She designs lessons that
effectively address learning expectations.

Laura does an exemplary job in conducting her lessons. Her introductory activities are always
engaging. She designs a variety of lessons that engage different types of learners, such as the visual,
the auditory, the kinesthetic etc.Her use of technology is proficient. She uses our Smartboard for most
of her classes. Her lessons are paced well. She is very responsive to students' needs and adjusts her
pacing accordingly. She also shows flexibility when dealing with special events and interruptions that
are very much part of school life.

Laura displays most admirable management skills for a young teacher. She is always positive and
encouraging. She uses a calm voice and creates a gentle, welcoming environment for students. She is
firm and sets good rules and routines for the classroom. She is always aware of off-task behaviour and
deals with them firmly and calmly. Students respond very well to her. She reinforces positive behaviour
with praise and hence builds an environment for student success. She is proficient with her
questioning and prompts and can adjust her teaching according to the students' responses.
