Olivia and consistently demonstrated an enthusiasm and passion for teaching. This positive energy is reflected in her students' attitudes toward their learning. She learns very quickly and applies her
learning to her instruction immediately and is always looking for ways to improve. Olivia's patience and calm demeanour make the learning environment a safe place for all students to learn and share their
ideas. Olivia is an outstanding teacher!

Olivia has developed a very strong relationships with all students in the class and always treats them
with respect and provides the support that each individual student needs. She created lessons and
learning tasks that were very engaging and required critical thinking and problem solving skills. Olivia
exceeded my expectations for her commitment and care to her students.

Olivia has demonstrated an exceptional ability to co-plan and team teach in the classroom. She is
open to suggestions and freely shares her ideas and strategies with other teachers. She participated in

Olivia consistently reflects on her lessons and looks for ways to improve them. She willingly takes
feedback aimed at improving her instruction and often sets goals for herself for professional growth.
She clearly aims to improve her teaching practice, evidenced by her enrolment in Special Education
P1.

Olivia has planned and executed many engaging lessons and activities that have clear roots in the
curriculum. She consistently uses learning goals and success criteria as tools to guide students and
assist them in peer and self assessment. She effectively used the Gradual Release of Responsibility
Model during her language instruction and is developing a strong understanding of the 3-part math
lesson. Her lessons were consistently inquiry based across all subject areas and her culminating tasks
directly reflected in-depth understanding of the curriculum through well developed success criteria.

Olivia is very effective in her ability to engage students at the beginning of a lesson/unit. She engages
student learning through the use of technology (SmartBoard,videos, etc.) inquiry questions and
enthusiasm. Olivia plans her learning activities with the end in mind and uses a variety of resources to
assist her in her planning (The Guide to Effective Instruction, Ottawa Bansho). The culminating tasks
are both engaging and challenging and clearly reflect the curriculum expectations. Students are well
prepared for their independent projects due to Olivia's effective instruction throughout the unit. Olivia
recognizes when students may need additional instructions and adapts her lesson timing accordingly.

Olivia is very confident and enthusiastic when interacting with her students, both in whole group and
individually. She prompts students with questions that dig deeper and promote connections between
concepts across the curriculum. She demands and upholds a very positive and inclusive learning
environment and acknowledges positive behaviours as well as corrects undesired behaviours. She is
consistently respectful and corrects students as such.
