The Civil Air Patrol is the United States Air Force Auxiliary and performs the
missions of Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and Cadet

kids their first airplane ride free of charge.

ROBOTICS
I have been competing in robotics for six years now. I have spent one year
as a team captain, one year as a coach, and one year as a team member
on a team that went to compete in the St. Louis World Robotics Festival. I
have helped start and educate other robotics teams, including one at my
school. I have programmed robots in FLL and VEX competitions.
JUNIOR COUNCIL ON WORLD AFFAIRS
JCOWA encompasses fairs and events designed to educate young people
about world events culminating in one event (QuizBowl) where teams of
four compete with other high school students in knowledge on current
events.
AVIATION
In April of 2014 I won the Lewis A. Jackson $1500 Private Pilot scholarship
to begin my flight training, and on September 3rd 2014 I completed my
first solo flight in a Light Sport Tecnam P-92 Echo. I have a passion for
flying and want to make it a career, particularly in military aviation.
STUDENT AMBASSADOR
As a Student Ambassador I give tours of and represent my high school (the
Dayton Regional STEM School) as well as volunteer at Exhibition Nights and
Open House to showcase my work and introduce others to the school.
SCIENCE FAIR
From 2012-2014 I competed in the Intel Science and Engineering Fair, once
with a project on mathematically modeling blood spatter patterns and
another on programming a model of a planet moving around a star to
showcase Keplers laws.

LEADERSHIP

In the Civil Air Patrol, I am 2nd Element leader, meaning I am

charged with three of four cadets that I am responsible for. I
mentor them, motivate them, take a roll call and encourage
their progress in the program.
I was team captain of my Robotics team for one year, and
coach of a robotics team another year. For both positions I
motivated my team, directed allocation of resources (who
does programming, who does building, who does projects)
and helped/mentored my team.
