he Bible says, Faith without work is dead (James

2:26). Some people still think believing is enough,
but beliefs alone wont bring the results you need.
Jesus didnt say, For whosoever believes. He said, For
whosoever shall SAY. If you want to disqualify yourself
from receiving, then just say nothing because faith
only works for those who are willing to speak say
unto this mountain.
When Jesus was in the desert for 40 days and
nights, the Bible says that Satan came to tempt Him.
Satan spoke, then Jesus spoke; then the enemy spoke
again, and Jesus spoke again. This verbal conversation
continued. At this point, there was a war going on- a
war of words! Every time Jesus responded, He said,
It is written it is written it is written. If the Son
of God needed to use the Word to defeat the enemy,
wouldnt it only seem logical we would need the same
ammunition? Gods Word is a weapon against any
situation. It is supposed to be in our mouths.
David is another example of someone who gained
the victory with words. David was just a youth when
he went to his brothers who were in the army. This is
the same army who was afraid to fight the Philistine
champion, Goliath. Goliath was approximately 9 feet,
9 inches tall. He had on six pieces of armor, and the
head of his spear weighed 600 shekels of iron. David
volunteered to fight this giant. When Goliath saw
they had sent a boy to fight him, he was furious, and
he started talking. David just didnt stand there with
his mouth shut. He began talking too. David said to
the Philistine, You came against me with sword and
spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name
of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel,
whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you
over to me, and I will strike you down and cut off your
head. Today I will give you carcasses of the Philistine
army to the birds of the air and beasts of the earth
and the whole world will know that there is a God in
Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not
by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle
is the Lords, and he will give you all of you into our
hands. ( 1 Samuel 17:45).
This is exactly what the Lord did. David triumphed
over Goliath with a sling and a stone, and then took
Goliaths own sword to cut off his head. When the
Philistines saw this, they were terrified. Then, the
men of Israel and Judah went into Philistine camp and
defeated them. David spoke and saw victory.

FAITH SPEAKS
Being a faith person doesnt mean you wont
have problems. It doesnt mean you are going to
go through life on a bed of roses, but it does
mean that when the problems come, you are able
to confront and defeat them with faith in your
heart and the Word in your mouth!

problem you could possibly have: principalities,
powers, things to come, distress, persecution, peril,
nakedness, famine and the sword. Following this long
list of problems, verse 31 says, What then shall we say
to these things? If God is for us who can be against us?
When trouble shows up, you need to say something;
you need to speak something.
First Corinthian, chapter 10 says, For they all
drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and
that rock was Christ. When the children of Israel came
out of Egypt, they went through many hardships in
the desert. One of these hardships was they ran out
of water. The first time this happened, Moses went
to God for help. The Lord instructed him to strike the
rock, and water would flow from it. Moses did as he
was commanded, and water flowed from rock- not just
a little stream, but enough water to fill the millions of
thirsty people and all the animals too, so they could
continue their journey.
The second time they ran out of water, God didnt
tell Moses to strike the rock again. Instead, He told
Moses to speak to the rock, and water would come
out. When Moses went to the rock, the people were
complaining and murmuring so much that he became
angry and struck the rock. In spite of disobedience,
water flowed from the rock again.
The point God was trying to make was neither
that water flowed from rock, nor that Moses disobeyed
God in his anger. The point was the rock was Christ or
a type of Christ, as stated in the New Testament. How
many times did Jesus die for your sins? He suffered

on time (Moses was to strike the rock one time), and

then, after that, all you do is speak- you just speak and
living water flows to you. He was smitten one time;
He shed His blood. Now, all you need is the word of
your testimony.
E. W. Kenyon said, The reason the majority
of Christians are weak, though they are earnest, is
because they never dare to make a confession of
who they are in Christ. As a believer, you are a king
and a priest, and when you begin to speak from your
authority, from your position or office, things begin
to happen. Things begin to move and shake, and even
if you dont see them moving immediately, it doesnt
mean things arent happening.
Your faith will not prevent
mountains, but it will move them
out of your life. The devil will try to
frame your world with doubt, fear,
depression, sickness and poverty,
but when you begin to speak to
it, that mountain will move. Dont
be discouraged when problems
come. Being a faith person doesnt
mean you wont have problems.
It doesnt mean you are going to
go through life on a bed of roses,
but it does mean that when the
problems come, you are able
to confront and defeat them
with faith in your heart and
the Word in your mouth!

urian Thomas was pioneer pentecostal missionary to Central India.

He hailed from Kerala. In the beginning he was a missionary from
the India Pentecostal Church of God but later formed a new organization called the Fellowship of the Pentecostal Churches in India along with
other Christian leaders. He authored several books originally in Hindi,
English, and Malayalam. He was the pastor of the Pentecostal Church at
Itarsi, Founder/Chairman and later Patron of the Fellowship of the Pentecostal Churches in India, and Principal of the Central India Bible College,
estd. in 1962 (now Central India Theological Seminary) for several years.
He was recipient of several awards for his outstanding contributions in
the field of Christian literature, education, and ministry. His book God's
Trailblazer In and Around the World was his autobiography.

heavens and earth, and everything
in it and found that it was very good
(Gen 1:3). God entrusted the whole creation in
the hands of man and said rule over. Adam was
expected to take care of it in a responsible manner. He was the representative of God in this
world because he was created in the image and
likeness of God. But, he committed sin by disobeying Gods command. Thus, evil entered into
the creation. God said to Adam cursed is the
ground because of you (Gen 3:7).
The evil one entered into the creation. Before
sinned, Adam was the son of God (Lk 3:38). But
after sinning, he became the slave of the evil one.
Whatever entrusted with Adam came under the
control of Satan, when he defeated Adam. Thus,
Satan established his kingdom here. He is said to
be the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Eph 2:2).
When Jesus Christ was in this world, the devil
showed Jesus all the kingdoms of this world, with
their splendours. The devil told Jesus I will give
you all their authority and splendor for it has
been given to me (Lk 4:6). Jesus Christ did not
object Satans claim. The devil did not claim that
he is the owner of all these, but says that all these
are given to him.
The Bible says about two kingdoms, the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. This is
revealed in the Bible. One day, one demon possessed man was brought to Jesus. He was blind
and mute. Jesus drove out the evil spirit from him.
Immediately he was healed. He could see and talk.
All people were astonished. They said could this
man (Jesus) be the son of David, could this man
be Messiah (Mt 12:23). When the Pharisees heard

it, they said that Jesus drove out demon with the
help of the prince of demons. Jesus replied every kingdom divided itself will be ruined. If satan drives out satan, how his kingdom can stand.
Here, Jesus says that satan has a kingdom. It is not
a divided one, but a united one. In verse 28 Jesus
says if I drove out demons by the spirit of God,
then the kingdom of God has come up on you.
Here, Jesus says about the kingdom of God. Thus,
in this passage, Jesus says about two kingdoms,
the kingdom of satan and the kingdom of God.
Colossians 1:13 says about two authorities.

means authority. It says that we are rescued from

the authority of darkness and placed in the kingdom of the son of God. Satan is the prince of
darkness. Once we were there. But, God rescued
us from there. Now, we are in the kingdom of the
son of God.
In order to mark the realm of satan in the
earth, the word world is used. The Bible says that
the world lies in the power of the evil one (1 Jn
5:19). In 2 Cor 4:4, Paul says that satan is the god
of this age. In Jn 14:30 Jesus says that satan is the
prince of this world.
The word is in the grip of satan. Once we were
also under his hands. But God rescued us. We
are chosen from the world. Therefore, we are not
under the control of satan. As satan is the leader
of the world, we must have a separation from
the world. The Bible gives warning in this regard
do not conform any longer to the pattern of this
world (Rom 12:2). Do not love the world or anything in the word. If anyone loves the world, the
love of the Father not in him. For everything in
the world the cravings of sinful man, the lust of
his eyes and the boasting of what he has and doescomes not from the Father, but from the world.
The world and its desires pass away but the man
who does the will of God lives forever (1 Jn 2:1517). You, adulterous people, dont you know that
friendship with the word is enmity towards God?
Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world
becomes an enemy of God (James 4:4). No one
can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one
and love the other or he will be devoted to the one
and despise the other. You cannot save both God
and money (Mt 6:24).
Jesus Christ said to his disciples that they do
not belong to the world (Jn 15:19). On the day of
Pentecost, Peter preached about the need of separation, save yourselves from this corrupt generation (Acts 2:40). Paul says that the same things in
Philippians 2:14. A child of God should always be
aware of this.
Worldly people will do many things. But, we
cannot do such things, lust of flesh, lust of eyes
and pride of life come from the world. The people
of the world may be addicted to these things. But,
we cannot even think of it.
Worldliness is dangerous. A man cannot love
God and the world at one time. He who loves and
conform to the world is at an enmity with God.
As the citizens of the kingdom of God, we should
always keep separation from the kingdom of
darkness.
