This assignment fulfills competency 2.1.

11: Analyze the impact of urban context on

a range of client systems, including practice implications. This assignment required
that I discuss my field placement setting and analyze how this agency serves clients
who have been impacted by their urban surroundings. I discussed the various client
populations served, the agencys procedures for working with clients, services
offered, and my own role within the agency. This allowed me to not only assess my
work within an urban setting, but also analyze how effective the services provided
by this agency have been in helping clients from surrounding urban areas. Through
discussion of the client population served, the services offered by this agency, and
the agencys commitment to community I was able to analyze how the urban
context of various communities with which this agency worked are affecting the
client population groups. After analyzing the characteristics of the urban
communities with which this agency works, I was then able to discuss my role as an
intern and through further practice, work to apply this analysis to my work with
clients at this agency. This assignment laid the groundwork for fulfillment of this
competency and my subsequent time at this agency allowed for complete
fulfillment of the competency as I was able to continuously analyze the
characteristics of the urban context as I became more familiar with various
communities and then apply this analysis to my work with clients within the agency.
