Dear Mr.Bierlein,
I am writing to express my interest in the Program Advisor position that was posted on the SECUSS-L subscription email. As
a current student working at the Study Abroad Office at UNC Asheville, I am pursuing a career in international education
and seeking opportunities to expand my experience with the possibility of working for Intrax Global.
With my significant experience internationally, I believe I have the qualifications that would fit as a Program Advisor. I
have studied abroad twice, once in Croatia when I was 16 with Rotary International, and again for a semester in Sydney,
Australia. With my work experience at the Study Abroad Office, I have gained valuable insight into the operations of
domestic and international student services where every day I am promoting and advising students to study abroad.
Consistently I am reaching out to students by leading presentations in classrooms, tabling for the study abroad office at
university events, and supporting the front office in administrative duties for study abroad applicants.
Since working at the Study Abroad Office at UNC Asheville, I am familiar with institutional partnerships and working with
students going abroad with study abroad providers like Intrax Global. In my own experience of working in student services I
am very accustomed with establishing and maintaining university relationships and skilled in programming for the
recruitment of students. I enjoy high-energy work environments where I am engaged with people and can collaborate with
my colleagues in reaching professional goals.
After coming back from my exchange in Croatia, I have consistently been involved with international students by founding
the International Exchange Student Club at my high school, and developed an International Student Mentor Program at
the Study Abroad Office at UNC Asheville. I also supervised and executed the event planning for International Education
Week at my university to engage on and off campus students about the significance of cultural exchange and studying
abroad. I have been able to promote all international education providers to students interested in studying abroad and have
had the opportunity to gain skills in working with both domestic and international students. I have mainly worked in a
university setting during my undergraduate career where I have developed relationships with department directors and have a
working knowledge of campus life because of my experiences as a Resident Assistant and an Orientation Leader.
During my semester in Sydney, I had an invaluable opportunity to work while studying which enabled me to develop an
interest in marketing and communications. Because of my work experience I am an advocate of taking advantage of your
study abroad experience by working abroad. I understand the importance of international work experience for students and
believe that I would be able to promote Intrax Globals internship programs.
With my international education experience I am confident that my educational and professional background would serve me
well as a Program Advisor at Intrax Global. It would be a pleasure to work for a provider that promotes international
education and work experience abroad. I look forward to the opportunity to interview with you to allow us to further discuss
