Duration of teaching: ____50 minutes_______

I. What transpired in class

This was a drilling session with a focus on grammatical structures
review. The structures are based on a previously learned text about
travelling.
The lesson plan is designed with a start of structures review as a
priming stage (10 minutes), and a task (40 minutes) afterwards. The
task is set into three activities: a pre-task reading activity (10 minutes)
aiming to enhance input, a task of problem-solving (10 minutes)
aiming for negotiation then presentation (10 minutes), and a writing
assignment (10 minutes) as a post-task to consolidate the knowledge.
Immediate feedback and delayed feedback were intentionally
provided.

II.

Reflections

Students mastered the priming section. They had a very solid

foundation of the grammatical structures so the completion time for
this section was shorter than expected.

As of the task, they participated actively and performed well in terms

of presenting their decisions about choosing a transportation method
and explaining reasons.
As expected, though, same as their later writing performance, their
presentations didnt involve too much reviewed grammatical
structures. Since the task was based on meaning, the requirements
were open. Students didnt have limit to use any settled vocabulary
words or grammatical structures as long as they delivered meaning. As
of this point of view, the task was successful.
However, as the role of a drilling session, the task could be designed a
little more closed.
