The war on terror was a major political and economic blunder

Looking back, what did we achieve?

We were not even directly affected by this terrorist activity (9/11)
The call to arms was too hasty and disorganised, reducing chances of positive
impacts.
I am writing to regarding on the war in Iraq. I strongly disagree with Australias
involvement in any wars, especially the invasion of Iraq in 2003, which lasted for
7 years. The decision to go to war should never be one that is taken lightly. All
implications must be thoroughly considered. This can include the legal, political,
strategic effects, as well as the financial black hole in future budgets. However,
the decision of going to war was too heavily affected by United States; Australia
was looking to build good relationships with such a powerful country. I have
strong view on that the war on Iraq was a major political and financial blunder.
We did not achieve anything, but destroyed a third-world country with 110,600
violent deaths. Similarly, the cost of the Iraq war to Australian taxpayers was
about $3 billion, therefore, I strongly oppose with the decision of battle with Iraq,
just on building good relationship with United State.

International relationships are important for a countrys economic and

infrastructural growth. This includes Australias interests as well. It is argued that
our involvement in the war was affected by our eagerness to develop our
relationship with America and is the cause of more than 100000 deaths and $3
billion in taxes. However, our venture was not fruitful and we have successfully
lessened terrorist attacks around the world and I commend that. Your
contentious decision has made a difference not only in Australia but also in the
lives of individual people affected by the war and the world.
