Two artifacts demonstrate knowledge of standard four because they are examples for assessing students over what they have learned. Teachers must make educational decisions as to which type of testing method works best for their students. Assessment knowledge has a direct impact on student learning because by assessing and testing student, they will benefit from their teacher applying what they found from testing.

When dealing with standard four we are looking at how students show their
knowledge via assessments. To demonstrate my assessment knowledge I collected two
different assessments from Government and Politics class. These artifacts are two tests that were designed for the same unit, but are set up differently to accommodate students testing method preferences. The first test that I collected is a multiple choice test that gives students three to four different answers that they are allowed to choose from. The second artifact that I collected is a matching test where students must match the appropriate letter with the appropriate answer, and the second page consists of a fill in the blank portion. These artifacts demonstrate knowledge of standard four because they are examples for assessing students over what they have learned. They also show that there are multiple different ways to assess students (ex: multiple choice, fill in the blank, matching, essay, etc.). Teachers must make educational decisions as to which type of testing method works best for their students, as well as what testing method should be used to best assess the material taught. During this standard I learned that there are a variety of different testing and assessment methods. Testing methods can range from written essay or multiple choice to verbal tests that work well in foreign language classes. Assessments can ranges from standardized, formal assessments to informal assessments such as exit tickets that show if students picked up on the information from a lesson, or if you need to go back are reteach. I learned that these can be a very valuable asset to use to gauge where your students are at, and to determine what you, as a teacher, can do differently to improve student learning. That being said, assessment knowledge has a direct impact on student
learning because by assessing and testing student, they will benefit from their teacher applying what they found from testing to help students be successful in the classroom.
