Mar. 2015. Pope Benedict XVI throws out a statement to the public about something
being done for the Africans struggling to get money and food. He also states that the
grueling images of the little boys and girls must to stop. With assistance from us, we can
help change the lifestyle in Africa. We cant just sit around and expect things to change,
we must act upon this ongoing fight. This article also has good points and views on my
topic.
Jacobs, Sherelle. "The revolution has started: although Africa's enormous agricultural potential
has hardly been scratched, there has been a concentrated effort, by government, NGOs
and the private sector to push for the long overdue green revolution that could completely
transform Africa's economic fortunes. Sherelle Jacobs reports." African Business Oct.

Land, T.E. "Managing the tragically inevitable." The Middle East June 2013: 26+. Global Issues
in Context. Web. 23 Mar. 2015. T.E Land uses many different statistics to show where
the majority of the Africans are struggling from famine. Land emphasizes the reasons for
famine. He shows the shortage of food and money in Africa. This article fits into my
paper well because it has a lot of good information about what famine is and the ongoing
problem that has been taking place.
Osa, Edorodion. "Africa needs trade, not aid." New African Feb. 2012: 36+. Global Issues in

Context. Web. 23 Mar. 2015. Edorodion Osa presents a new thought about the famine in
Africa, which is trade. Africa needs help, and trade is their way out of this crisis. She
uses various studies to prove her point. She also uses statistics to show the many
Africans affected by famine. This article will go with my paper very well because it
shows many ways to help and ways to make this stop.
Rowe, Mark. "We're here to help: the bungled response to the 2010-11 famine in the Horn of
Africa exposed numerous problems at the heart of the aid community. But, as Mark Rowe
reports, there are many who argue that these failings are outweighed by the advances that
have been made in recent years." Geographical June 2012: 36+. Student Resources in
Context. Web. 23 Mar. 2015. Mark Rowe uses the history of Africa and the ongoing
problem of famine to build up knowledge of the topic before jumping right in. He shows
the difference in money in Africa from many years ago to present day. The article does a
very good job of showing the continuous struggle in Africa. Rowe also touches on the
fact that many of us are being fooled about the real reason of the famine. This article
goes well with my paper, because it proves the real reasons to famine that a lot of people
arent aware.
Trust, Gary. "'We Are The World' hit big in 1985." Billboard 12 Apr. 2014: 80. Student
Resources in Context. Web. 24 Mar. 2015. Gary Trust uses his managing skills to inform
people about the ongoing problem of famine in Africa. At the time he was managing
Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers. He uses them to raise awareness through songs. He
shows the campaigning part of the struggle of famine, through numbers, statistics, and
locations. Songs were a very positive increase in awareness. This article goes well with
my paper, because it shows other ways people are trying to help, and ways to help.
