be modified; they will not get as many problems as the other

Why is it important for the students to learn this content?
Statement of Purpose
Anticipatory Set
STAR board, internet, laptop, website, dry ease markers & board,
pencils, and SC Science textbooks are materials used to help
students achieve the stated objectives. I need STAR board,
internet, laptop, lumens, Science Pacing Guide, SC Science
Textbook, and the Oreo phases of the moon activity sheet. The
students will need their Science Book, Phases of the moon
Calendar, Discovery Journal Entry, pencil, Oreo Cookies, spoon,
and paper plates.
What will you do to motivate the students and get their attention? What is the hook
that will serve as a focus for the lessons activities?

I will explain to the students that today they will be learning about
the moon. I will explain to the students that the moon is made of
rock and is the brightest light visible in our night sky but it does
not produce any light of its own. I will further explain that the
moon only reflects the light given off by the sun.
I will remind the students that the sun is a star and like other
stars it is made of gases that produce light.
I will explain to the students that when they see the moon it
appears in different phases. The teacher will explain to the
students that a phase is another word for the shape of. For
example, when I look outside I see the moon phase that is shaped
like a ball. This means that I see a full moon. I will have a

PE- the teacher may ask the students to use their bodies to make
the different phases of the moon.
Art- The students will be able to draw the different phases of the
moon.
ELA- The students will be able to read about the different phases
of the moon.
Music-The students will be able to make a song or rap about the
different phases of the moon.
Social Studies-The students would be able to draw at least on
phase on the moon, when we start making our maps of our
community.

Weaknesses
I feel like I didnt have any weaknesses with this lesson. The
students really enjoyed this lesson.
