Hinduism, began before recorded history, so without question

Hinduism is very, very old. Hinduism affects the people in India, it

affects how people pick their jobs, worship, and what they eat. Hindu
was developed over a long period of time, and not by one single
person either. Historians believe that the Aryans brought aomething,
that later became known as Hinduism. But, others also believe that
Hinduism can be found, from the ancient artifacts that the original
settlers left. The early religion, is known as Vedas, Vedism. Vedas is a
collection of sacred texts, including verses, hymns prayers, and
teachings. They were composed in Sanskrit. Sanskrit was the ancient
language of india. The Vedas, had been taught orally (speaking) for
hundreds, of years, before there was the written form of Sanskrit.
Rituals and sacrifices for vedic honored a number of deities (any
supernatural bein worshiped as controlling some part of the world or
some aspect of life or who is the personification ofa force.) Sanskrit is
like the hindi language from now a days. Modern day Hinduism is much
more complex.
The Caste System was a society that was divided into social classes.
There were four main social classesBrahmins: priests and religious
scholars
- Kshatriyas: rulers and warriors
- Vaishyas: herders and merchants
- Shudras: servants
Caste played a role in Hinduism because it was the way they set up
their society. Each class had their own duties. Brahmins held the top
spot, shudras the lowest. After centuries, a fifth class developed known
as the untouchables these people whose job/way of life was
considered low, or dirty. They did things like handle garbage and dead
animals. Untouchables would often live in their own villages, or
neighborhoods. They were not alowd to enter many of the temples, or
attend most schools. Most of the Hindis would try and avoid touching
or even looking at them. This system affect all Indians, people were
born into their class and could not change it, therefor they could only
marry in their own caste, this was a part of their daily life. The Caste
System is kind of like us today, except now, it is low class, middle
class, and first class.
Brahman

Brahman is an ancient Indian religion in

which the Brahmins are the dominant class.
Brahmin;s are priests and religious scholars,
now a days they would be first class. This
means supreme power. They believe that
Brahman is constantly creating , destroying,
and recreating the universe.

Dharma

Dharma stands for law, obligation and duty. It

is very important to Hindu people. To follow,
ones dharma is to perform ones uties and so
to live as one should. Each of the classes had
there own dharma. Hindus called their social
class varna dharma, which means the way of
ones kind. They believed If everyone followed
this that society would be in harmony.

Karma

Karma explains the importance of living

according to Dharma. In Hindu, they believe
Karma governs what happens to peoples soul
after death.Hindus believed that souls had
many lives, and when a person dies, his or
her soul is reborn in a new body. But the type
of body the person would get depends on
their karma. Karma is all the good and bad a
person has done in their lives. If they had
lived a bad life then they would probably be
born into a low class.
The cycle of birth, death, and rebirth is
known as samsara. if the people are part of
samsara, then they will know pain and and
death. Hindu says that if samsara ends when
the soul escapes from the cycle of rebirth
and is then united with Brahman, the
supreme force in the universe. Before a
person can be released from samsara, it
takes many years. They escape by following
basic Hindu beliefs. They balance karma with
good actions. They follow Dharma by
behaving correctly.
