Revising Checklist

Did I remember to put the date at the top of my journal

entry?
Is it interesting?
Did I use the word "I " in my writing?
Did I include the key facts of the event?
Did I include how the person felt
Do all of my sentences make sense?
Can I add more details to make a better "picture" in the
reader's mind?
Can I add more describing words?

Editing Checklist
Is my story clear? Will my readers understand it?
Did I write in complete sentences?
Did I use capital letters to begin a sentence, for names of
people and places, days, weeks, months, for I?
Is each sentence punctuated correctly?
Did I spell all the words correctly?
Make any changes needed. Then edit with a partner.
