Philosophy:
If we were to allow students to have a choice in the learning process would they not be
engaged? Students of today need to be a part of what they are learning but also need direction
and support for whatever goals or plans that they have set for themselves in the future. As a
professional teacher, I do my absolute best to help each and every one of my students to
achieve their goals by way of multiple differentiation strategies. I reach my 21st century learners
by integrating technology in a meaningful way that is applicable to both the classroom and
everyday life by using multiple Web 2.0 tools. I believe in a strict yet flexible teaching
environment where every student has a voice and the right to be heard. I believe in creating a
classroom community built on respect, kindness, and companionship and I pride myself on the
success of strong teacher student relationships.

I love hockey, it is my passion and I was lucky enough to play for the Strathmore
Rockies in the Western Womens Hockey League 2009-2011. I have also played at the
collegiate level for the University of Lethbridge Storm Womens Fastball team from
2011-2013.
I really enjoy traveling and although I havent participated in a long distance/long stay
excursion, I do feel the need to visit the United States or the Caribbean at least once a
year.
The outdoors is where I like to spend most of my time. I spent summer 2014 fishing,
hiking, camping and rafting in the Yukon and Alaska; these are my favorite pastimes.
