Extended Inquiry Project Proposal
Should college football players be paid? This is the inquiry question I chose to do my
‘extended inquiry project on. I do not know very much about the rules and regulations pertaining
to the payment of college football players other than itis illegal. I plan to research the rules and
regulations throughout the semester in order to assist me in finding an answer to my inquiry
question. I had never really considered the idea of paying college football players until last
semester in UWRT-1101. One of the groups in my class chose this topic for their inquiry got
project. After listening to their presentation, I wanted to know more about this topic. In orderto
further my knowledge about this topic, I decided to do my inquiry project for this course about it.
Thave been passionate about the sport of football since I could walk. I always watched
NFL games, but never got into college football until high school. One reason I chose this inquiry
question was to further my knowiédge about college football in general. The payment of college
football players was so interesting to me because I had never considered the amount of money
that some players bring into schools. There are many fans that buy tickets to a college football =
game in order to watch a handful of star players. However, most of the money that is brought —(""Y, in

though many star players do receive scholarships, some people believe they should also draw a
salary. One reason some people believe this is because college football players have a high risk
