Professor Raymond,
Throughout this semester, we have been forced to learn different ways to write very
similar information. Whether it be our daily writings, or our writing prompts, we have to
answer a prompt/ question to the best of our ability. These writing assignments not only
benefitted my writing skills overall, but they also indirectly benefitted my research skills. The
constant research of various topics did get tedious at certain points, but as we approach the end
of our time in class together, I can see how all of those assignments were aimed in that direction
for specific reasons.
During this semester, I have been able to do a majority of the work without any problems
at all. However, there were a few things that did seem to give me trouble throughout the
assignment. Although not difficult, the writing prompts as well as the semester long project
have taken a toll on me throughout the class. This is partly my fault, but my group members
contribute to this greatly. Their lack of communication as well as the inability to meet with them
to complete the project at hand stressed me until the very end of this class.
For the semester long group project, I chose a topic that I really had no interest in for two
reasons. The first was that I did not know what I wanted to research in the first place, and the
second reason was because the people I had chosen to be in a group with all had a similar
passion for cars. This couldve been avoided had we discussed further options as well as had I
found another group member who shared common interests with me. Although it is not
something I particularly care about, I will say that the project has broadened my horizons when
it comes to the automobile industry.
Whether it be in this class or another writing class in my future, I believe this class will
have an impact on any writing that I do in the future and it has secured my foundation with
writing for years to come. I know that I will continue to develop in this area for as long as I live,
but this class and the assignments that we have done throughout the semester have allowed for
me to become much more confident in my writing skills as well as given me practice for
presentations for future classes.
Though I feel as though I have done particularly well on several assignments during this
semester, I feel as though many could have been improved with a few aspects changed here and

there. Because of this, I feel that there is only one assignment that I really could not have done
any better on, and that was the literacy narrative essay. In this essay I discussed how poverty
and divorce during my childhood had played major roles in defining who I became today as a
student as well as a man in general. This essay was my favorite and ultimately the best because
it was real and true, and it allowed me to express myself and what I had been through in my life
through words. This was the first instance where I had been able to do something like this in my
entire life. Because of this I took to the assignment and did it to the best of my ability, not only
because I shouldve, but because I actually cared about the assignment.
I want to thank you for all of the time and effort that you have put into myself as well as
the rest of the class, because without your effort and time this class would not have been as
beneficial to myself as it was.

Best regards,
