ACE

Lecture Series Outline

Purpose- The Ambassadors for Community Engagement (ACE) have come together under the direction
of our Dean, Dr. Gary Lacy for the purpose of creating community engagement opportunities that will
foster positive relationships with the members of the surrounding community as well as to provide an
additional avenue to recruit new students and drive enrollments. In order to achieve our goal we will
invite current students, faculty/staff, local businesses, community agencies, and local residents to
participate and ultimately come to find the resources provided by Empire State College-Hudson Valley
Center as an essential benefit for the members of the surrounding community.

Community Engagement-Outreach Plan

Feb. The following message was extracted from the Exchange and will be used to post on Facebook
(personal pages), Linkedin, Twitter, etc. Please feel free to post and share with all you know (i.e. Six
degrees of separation). The more touch points we provide the greater the visibility and reinforcement
to action. In addition to the efforts by David Henehan (press releases, etc.), Sue Mc Fadden (print
materials and email blasts), HVC Faculty (email blasts and personal invitations), ACE (personal social
media posts and community contacts), Stacey (community calendars), Gary, and Christine will embark
on community visits the week of 2/10/14. Our goal is to fill Hartsdale (Capacity: 40 people). If we exceed
our goal we will move to a larger location (lets hope).
