Morgan was very professional as she interned. With time, she will be able to have an even better rapport with high school students. Morgan needs to work on delegating responsibilities.

Interns Role(s): Directors Assistant; Stage Manager Location: Grace Christian Academy of Maryland Production: Disneys Beauty and the Beast Production Dates: March 12-14, 2015 Directors of the Production: Melissa Burdin & Eva Pandiscia Brief Overview of Internship: Morgan came to rehearsals on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:30 p.m 5:30 p.m. At the beginning of her internship, Morgan observed rehearsals alongside the acting director. Morgan recorded blocking and added her own artistic input through the acting director. At times, Morgan would also work with the actors on characterization. After the blocking was solidified, Morgan ran acting rehearsals one to two times a week. About three weeks before the production, Morgans main focus became stage managing. Morgan assigned students to move and remove various set pieces, and she helped ensure that scene changes went smoothly. She also helped with the construction and destruction of the set. Quality of Work: Morgan was very professional as she interned. She consistently completed all that was asked of her in a positive manner. Time Management: Morgan clearly understood the urgency of changing scenes in order to ensure that the production ran smoothly. She consistently strove to transition from scene to scene in the best way possible. Interaction with Students: Morgan was very kind to the students. She quickly realized that directing high school students is very different than directing college students. As the preparation of the production continued, Morgan continued to gain an understanding with the high school students. If Morgan decides to work with high school or middle school aged students, she will need to continue work on commanding respect and giving clear instructions that are understandable to high school students. With time, I am confident that Morgan will be able to have an even better rapport with middle school and high school students. Interns Strengths: As Morgan interned, she was consistent, eager, kind, thorough, willing-tolearn, and respectful. When she was given a task, she completed it to the best of her ability. Interns Weaknesses: Morgan needs to work on delegating responsibilities. She would often do a task herself rather than assign a student to the task. Part of the theater experience for the students is that they learn how to be responsible. Also, Morgan needs to work on relating with the students more. If she establishes better relationships with the students, the students will respect her even more.
Suggestions for Growth for Intern:
Morgan should continue to work with middle school and high school students, so she can work on establishing relationships with the students.
