Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Nico Sanchez and I am your childs World Studies teacher for this 2014
2015 school year. This will be my fifth year working for the Gilbert Public School
District and I have been teaching for a total of eight years at the high school level. I am
extremely excited to be working with your student throughout this school year.
As a History teacher, I understand that not all students will be as excited about History as
school subject. However, I feel that my job throughout the semester, along with teaching
the information to the students, will be to get students excited about learning History and
see the parallels between the past, and the future. Another goal that I have throughout
this school year is to help create a positive sense of community in which all students feel
safe and comfortable.
Within my classroom this year, students will be involved in a large number of group, and
hands on projects that will challenge not only the new knowledge that they will be
learning, but also the knowledge that they already had prior to entering the classroom and
how it relates to History. To help support my vision within the classroom I expect all
students to come to each and every class with all required materials such as completed
homework (if assigned), paper, pencil, pens, and any other materials that the students
have been instructed to have for a certain class day. I also expect that students show up to
as many class sessions as possible to avoid any falling behind or missed assignments and
activities.
Throughout the school year, students will be assigned various homework assignments. As
parents you should expect approximately 30minutes of homework each night. While I do
highly support parent student collaboration, I ask that parents help students by asking
them questions that will help them develop the answer as opposed to giving the student
the answer.
Again, I am extremely excited to begin this school year and I cannot wait to see the great
things that your student will learn. If you have any questions or need to get in touch with
me, you may do so by calling me at 480-198-2222 ext 231 or by email at
nicofaketeacher@gps.net.
Sincerely,

Nico Sanchez

Dear Mr. or Mrs. Doe,
Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Doe, I am sending this letter to inform you that your son
Johnny has been caught cheating on his economics test, which was taken last Monday,
February 9, 2015.
This is just as shocking for you as it is for myself because Johnny rarely has any issues
within the classroom and usually scores very well on tests and quizzes on his own.
Normally, the school rules say that upon being caught cheating, the student will be given
an immediate F on said test/quiz however since this is Johnnys first infraction I feel as
though an alternative path can be taken.
I have created an alternate, test that Johnny will be given the opportunity to take on his
own time, such as before school, after school, or during his lunch. While cheating is a
serious infraction, there is no doubt in my mind that Johnny will not have any more
issues within the classroom and that this was the only issue. Thank you for taking the
time to read this, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at
480-310-1948 ext. 19 or at nico.sanchez@gps.net.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Nico Sanchez

Dear Prospective Principle:

My name is Nico Sanchez and I graduated from Arizona State University in December of
2015 with a bachelors degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on History from
the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Although I have not officially had my own
classroom yet, I have interned at a variety of different schools and grade levels such as
Imagine Prep where I taught History and humanities for grades 9-12. Highland Junior
High where I taught History for grades seven and eight. As well as Canyon Valley High
School where I worked with students whose ages ranged from the 15-20 years old in a
high schools History and economics classroom.
While working at the various schools, I have had the opportunity to gain a vast amount of
knowledge not only with teaching students, but also interacting with fellow teachers,
staff, and the community around the school. I have also had the opportunity of teaching a
wide variety of subjects such as English, Humanities, Economics, Government, World
History, and Am/Az Government. While I may be a fairly new teacher, I bring with me a
lot of content knowledge, as well as a large amount of knowledge on not only the culture
of the new high school students but also how to adapt to learning new technology and
teaching strategies which makes me extremely versatile. I have also had the luxury of
being able to play and participate in the coaching a multiple sports and am able to coach
soccer, tennis, and kicking/special teams for football. While I bring with me a large
amount of information, I also bring good characteristics that I would love to share with
your school and community such as my passion for learning, my dedication to improving
the area around me, my drive to help others, and my ability to lead and implement
change. I feel that I can bring a lot of positive change to your school to help change it for
the better.
