Did you know that about 3,873 people out of 7.125 billion people in the world are serial
killers? Thats an interesting fact heres another about 11,187 of the billions are victims of serial
killers. A murder scene happens when a person or people die or almost die. As soon as a murder
happens it is investigated by the police or local law enforcements. A murder scene is a crime and
they are brought on by murder, serial killers, and all together just plain murder.
The death sentence and it could be very helpful. In 1995 an old couple in their 70s were
killed by a crack head, broke into the couple's Capitol Heights home and stabbed them
repeatedly with a pair of scissors (Kolker). For the ones on death row after the appeal happened
were free from the death sentence, but for the ones before are not saved from it, but without
rules for how to carry out executions, and with no capital punishment statute on the books, the
men languished in a kind of legal limbo (Kolker). The limbo ended with one word as OMalley
commuted the death sentences (Kolker).
The death sentence does affect the lives of the people who were the victims or the
victims family. O'Malley, a Democrat who leaves office Jan. 21, he had hoped his decision
would bring closure to relatives of the inmates' victims, Moore said it did no such thing
(Kolker). Moores family took solace in the fact that there was a death sentence hanging over

Burch's head all that time. (Kolker). Moore states that she knew that this death sentence was
hanging over Burch, and that he didnt have much of a life in Cumberland, where Burch has
been held in federal prison (Kolker). Now, she believes that they will bring him down to another
prison and he'll have a life, a social life with other inmates, which I don't appreciate (Kolker).
Everything happens for a reason. Five prostitutes disappear, and the bodies turned up on a
beach. Now the families of the victims have formed a kind of sisterhood (McKinley). Short and
slight, with an off-kilter smile and wide anime eyes, Shannan Gilbert (McKinley). One of the
victims had drifted into escort work when she was about 20 as a way to earn money while trying
to make it as a singer (McKinley).
The smarts she had. The oldest of Mari Gilberts four daughters, Shannan had finished
high school in New Paltz at age 16 (McKinley). Mari said that she wasnt street-smart, but she
was book-smart (McKinley). Shannan had been diagnosed with a disorder but stopped taking her
medicine complaining that it gave her the shakes (McKinley).
It went all downhill from there. Shannan had at least one arrest in her record, having been
rounded up with some other girls from Upper Saddle River, and one time was beaten to the
point where she needed a titanium plate in her jaw (McKinley). Two years ago, she had started
posting ads for herself on Craigslist, she could charge $200 an hour and keep two thirds of the
fee; the other third went to a driver, who would take her to dates and provide security
(McKinley).
The partying begins. Shannan had liked to party, she mostly liked pot, coke, and
prescription drugs, but if she managed to make it through the night without burning through too

much of what she earned, she could get home after five calls with $600 or more in her pocket
(McKinley). The extra money had allowed her to move into a place of her own for the first time,
in Jersey City, and she was close to completing a series of online college classes that might have
helped her stop escorting.
So many people are very crazy a Manhattan man who was naked and killed two of his
neighbors with a knife shortly after an earthquake three years ago was convicted of murder on
Tuesday, as jurors rejected his insanity defense (Olivo). A State Supreme Court jury deliberated
for hours before finding the man, Christian Falero, in his 20s guilty on all charges, including
two counts of murder, for his deadly rampage on Aug. 23, 2011 (Olivo). Mr. Falero never had a
heated argument that he had fatally stabbed his two neighbors, Ignacio Reyes-Collazo, in his
80s, and Yanzhi Wang, in her 60s, in his building at 870 Riverside Drive in Washington
Heights in Manhattan (Olivo). He had also slashed at two other people and assaulted a young
mother with his fists (Olivo).
His lawyers had argued the he was a schizophrenic who had a break with reality just
before the attacks (Olivo). They presented evidence that Mr. Falero believed his neighbors
were demons who wanted to kill him and the earthquake was the world ending (Olivo). They
had argued that he did not understand what he was doing (Olivo).
One of his lawyers said Mr. Falero's mind had left him, Vivian M. Williams, had said that
on Monday during closing arguments (Olivo). During the long trial, experts for both side had
gave conflicting testimony about whether Mr. Falero had an underlying mental illness that had
caused delusions, or was merely enraged and high on drugs (Olivo).

So many people get murdered each minute, of each hour, of each day by someone else.
But one the bright side the criminals sometimes get caught in the same or close to the same
amount of time. Murder scenes is when person or people die a most horrible death. As soon a
shooting happens police or local law enforcement come to investigate. Murder is just a plain
crime and brought on by a plain old person who is trying to get back for what has happened to
them.
