To Whom It May Concern,
I am a motivated, student-focused teaching professional interested in applying for a job teaching English and/or
psychology at the secondary level. As a student at Grand Valley State University, I studied education with
endorsements in English and psychology and am certified to teach grades 6-12. I have student teaching experience
with middle school and high school students, in both urban and suburban districts.
Through my experience at Grand Valley State University and in the classroom, I have acquired many skills that
have shaped my philosophy of teaching. Here are some of the things I value most: I have a firm belief that curiosity
and interest in content are crucial to student engagement and achievement. I know from the warm greetings I
receive in the hallways that relationships play a key role in creating a productive learning environment for
students and staff alike. Another key element to great teaching is to be flexible and ready to constantly be
evaluating and adapting lesson plans, assessments, and teaching strategies to ensure the success of each student. I
am eager to continue learning from administrators, colleagues and students on how to improve every single day.
These key ideas, along with many more, are what I have learned through my experiences and plan to use in my
classroom.
To be an asset to your team, I promise to be the light. I will interact with students, staff, and parents in a joyful,
genuine and professional fashion. I will be a presence at school and in the community. Most importantly, I will be
an advocate for each of my students, both in and out of the classroom, to ensure that each achieve their personal
best.
It is my purpose to be a positive, flexible and motivated addition to your staff. I would welcome an opportunity to
meet with you and your team to display my passion for education in person. I hope to hear from you at your
earliest convenience.
Respectfully,
Natalie Beeg
