Dear Presiding Officer:
As a group, we have collectively come up with a fun and interactive new game. We are looking
to find a company to buy our game and get it out on the market. Our game is a fun combination
of the popular games beer pong and trivia crack. As a team, we have come up with the game
Cuppong!. After successfully testing it on our peers, we are ready to expand and reach a broader
market.
The game is easy to learn so you can spend all your time playing. You begin with two teams, one
at each end of the board. Ten cups are set up in a pyramid shape at each end of the board. There
are nine removable cups and one stationary cup at each end of the board. Each cup is outlined in
a different color, indicating the different categories of trivia questions. There are ten different
categories: science, history, geography, art, movies, music, Purdue, animals, sports, and
celebrities. If Player 1 makes the ping pong ball into the blue cup, he or she must answer the
corresponding blue trivia card. If the player answers correctly, they may take the cup off of the
board. The first team to clear all of their cups wins! But wait, theres a twist! If a team makes it
into the front stationary cup, they get the chance to answer a bonus question. If they answer
correctly, they automatically win! The element of challenge with throwing the ball into a cup and
correctly answering a trivia question gives this game the exciting edge a consumer would desire.
After testing our game in a fixed group of our peers, we feel that the game is best suited for
players 15+ due to the reference of the adult game, beer pong. The trivia questions are also
geared toward a more mature and advanced audience. Researching your company, we have come
to find that there are very few games for adults. We have decided to target this specific age group
because there is little competition in this genre and it is one that we are very familiar with. This
can be played in any laid back situation, such as a party or game night. Its a fun, clean twist
from the adult version, beer pong. We believe that our peers enjoyed playing our game because it
combines two games that they find fun and are familiar with.
The game board we constructed is made from foam board. It is six feet long so you will need
some space in order to play. There are ten cut outs at the end of each side of the board in the

formation of a triangle. The front cut out on each side has a cup glued into it, this is the bonus
cup. These cups will also double as support for the board. Aside from the board, you will also
need 18 Dixie cups to fill in the slots. There will be two cups for each color category. The cups
must have a colored ring around the top to indicate which type of question will be asked. The
trivia questions are the same size as a business card and are made on the same paper. There are
twenty questions for each trivia category. The final thing that you will need to play this game is a
ping pong ball, necessary for shooting into the cups.
There are other games on the market similar to this one. Ants in the Pants, made by Milton
Bradley, incorporates the idea of getting an object into a container. In this game you have
multiple color coded ants with a tail that you press down on in order to make it jump into the air.
Each player is a different color. One at a time, each player will take their turn flicking their ants
into a pair of large, plastic jeans with suspenders. The suspenders serve as an obstacle to make it
harder. This is similar to our game in regards to throwing the ping pong ball into the Dixie cup.
The ping pong ball fits perfectly into the Dixie cup which makes it more difficult for you to
make it in and remove the cup. The person with the most ants to make it into the pants wins.
Another game similar to this one is Trivia Crack, which is an Apple mobile app made by
Etermax. The object of the game is to answer enough trivia questions to unlock the characters
corresponding to each category. In this game, you are playing against one other opponent, each
answering trivia questions. There are six different trivia question categories: art, entertainment,
sports, history, science, and geography. Upon your turn, you click the button to spin the wheel.
The wheel contains each different color corresponding to a certain category plus one section that
is a crown. The crown is a bonus section. The first person to unlock all of their characters wins
the game. This is very similar to ours except for instead of unlocking characters, youre taking
out cups. The bonus cup is similar to the crown because if you make it into there you can choose
to take out one cup of any color. Between both games, I think ours is more appealing due to the
fact that Ants in the Pants is targeted for a young age, 3+ and Trivia Crack is targeted for 12+.
Our game gives a more mature vibe. It references to the adult beer pong, while still being teen
appropriate. Both games, beer pong and Trivia Crack, are extremely successful and are played by
many. Combining both elements of challenge gives our game the ultimate appeal for teens of this
generation.
You may contact us via email, schulern@purdue.edu or phone (765) 494-4600, at your earliest
convenience. Any advice, inquiries, or suggestions in regards to our game are welcomed.
We appreciate your time.
