Blog 3; Salen & Zimmerman Ch. 2 and 10
Chapter 2

Chapter 2 was about the design process. It listed and described several

brainstorming, creation, modification, and analysis methods. The author then talked
about his process and experience with creating his own game. It was an eye-opening
reading. Thinking about creating a game doesnt seem that hard. After reading this, I
know the proper process and steps to go through to create a game.
Chapter 10

Chapter 10 discusses three ways to understand games; rules, play, and

culture. The rules contain the formal game design, play contains experiential game
design, and culture contains contextual game design. It then discusses schemas. How
they have variables, represent knowledge at many levels, and can embed.
