Differentiated Instruction

Assignment:
Centers and Transitions to Centers
Learning Goal: The learner will be able to apply the Halakhot of differentiation
between Basar veHalav regarding utensils in the kitchen
Activity: center based activity- simulated kitchen
In class students will create a minimal dining set for your kitchen for meat and dairy.
At each center the student will see one of three categories of utensils that you
learned about in a video the night before (glass, metal, earthenware). Based on the
directions at each of the three centers, the student will form a set of utensils that
can be used for meat and dairy in the kitchen.
At each center, the student will have red and blue stickers as well as index cards
and a marker. Depending on the utensil, the student will place either a red sticker
for meat, blue sticker for dairy, or both (if it could be used for both) on the utensils
to show how one would be able to use them in the kitchen. On the index card, the
student will write the category and scenario and place it next to the formation.
Once the student completes the activity at each center, they will take a picture of
the arrangements they made there with the index card clearly visible, and then will
submit the pictures after to be checked/as assessment.
