Mike & Peggy Yost

Old for newer

Last month we mentioned in our

praises that that we were able to change
vehicles with little cost. Well, God works in
everything that we do and provides for us in
every way! We have asked for prayers for our
vehicles many times and we will continue to
need your prayer support.
We acquired our Land Cruiser through
the blessings of several who donated money
and others who sold at a huge discount. It
served us faithfully for many years in His
ministry. The Land Cruiser has made
countless trips hauling materials and people
over rugged roads and through rivers.
Owning a vehicle here is difficult even
for a mechanic because repairs are difficult
and parts are expensive and hard to find. For
example, our Land Cruiser had problems with
the rear differential and we struggled for six

months to find the right parts and get it

repaired. During that time we asked the Lord
if He had another plan for our transportation.
His answer was, yes, so we made the
repairs and began to look for His answer.
In our January news, we shared that
the Yount family was moving to the next
chapter in their lives. Part of that change was
their need to sell their truck. They blessed us
with a great deal and we stood in faith that
we could sell the LC for an equal amount of
money. Once the deal was set, we put the LC
up for sale and it sold in the first two weeks.
Isnt God good?! So now we (in Gods grace)
own a vehicle much newer and with lower
mileage. It is a bit smaller, but we can live
with that.
Praise be to Him.

Some things in Balfate are still done the hard way.

administration and medical
people.
Praise that Mike & Peggy are
enjoying good health at the
moment
Pray for clear direction for all
the ministries that Mike & Peggy
are involved in.
Praise for the great attendance
at our Bible study. More youth

Pray for a land transaction so
the hospital can own its water

Praise for the great weather in
Honduras although some say it
is HOT!
Pray for all the red tape of
getting a container shipped.
Praise to the Lord for this is
the day that He has made.

One of the local professions is fishing. Fishing doesnt

provide a large income so they do with what they have. Luis
is one of the local fishermen and he is making a dug-out
canoe. This canoe, with the others in this photo, began as a
large tree that was felled and split into quarters. The
sections are sold to the fisherman and drug out of the jungle
with horses or man power, then floated down the river to the
fishermans home. The next step is to use axes and
machetes to form the outside. Once that is completed, the
inside is hollowed out. Note how thin the sides of the canoe
are. Luis is doing the finish work with an adze that makes
the finish very smooth. The adze has been used for
centuries in woodworking. The wood is treated with used oil
or fuel oil, and then
painted. A canoe like
this will last for many
years if it is maintained
well. The fishermen
also make sails of
plastic and poles. Luis
is one of our neighbors
and attends the local
Catholic church.
