above. To do this you will have to design a project where students engage in higher-order thinking and publish their work to an
audience that will use or care about the results. Broad feedback for their work is also a great way to boost interest and
performance.

about their work? The above learning standard will be addresses. The students will create a movie with captions and
music on Movie Maker. The project will be introduced at the beginning of the American Symbols (Social Studies) unit.
The audience will be the students.

Importance of technology: Why is using a multimedia authoring tools critical to the project? Could
the project be completed without this technology? What would be lost without using it? What other
types of technology, if any, are going to be used in the learning experience? Using multimedia authoring
tools is not critical to this project but it will make the subject much easier to learn. It could be completed by making a
hand booklet. If we didnt use the technology, it would take longer to create and it would not
be as smooth for them to learn and understand. Movie Makeris going to be used.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding internet
safety and student privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain
how youd minimize risks to students/yourself, alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and
follow school districts Internet Safety/Use Policy. I will not use any pictures if the children or include any
personal information of any kind and make sure no pictures or music is copyrighted.
