Activity Overview:
During this activity the students will utilise ICT in order to explore
the process of passing a bill through parliament. Students will
choose the bill they would like to pass and make decisions to pass
the bill. Students will be required to work individually, however they
are allowed to discuss their progress and queries with the students
next to them as well as the teacher.
Student Prior Knowledge:
Students have previously engaged with the importance of
laws, how they are implemented, and their impact of society.
Students have a basic knowledge of the organisation of
parliament, have engaged in activities to further this
knowledge, and are familiar with the functions of positions
within parliament.
Teacher Prior Knowledge:
Teachers should have an understanding of the organisation of
parliament, positions held within the parliament, and their
significance in passing a bill.

technologies to research and source information on
civics and citizenship, including critically analysing that
information. Students learn about and have opportunities to
use social media to collaborate, communicate, share
information and build consensus on political, legal and social
issues.
