Dear Praying Friends,

We have had the privilege of being in many great Missions Conferences over the past
two months. Several churches have taken us on for support. I had the privilege of
leading a young man named Alex Martin to Christ while on visitation during a conference. Please pray for Alex to grow in his faith.
God taught us an important, yet very simple lesson recently. In February, I had a meeting scheduled for a weekend in March. Since at that time I worked weekends, I knew
it would be difficult to get off for the meeting. I prayed about it and worked hard before the end of February to find someone to work for me that weekend. God supplied
that person, and I called the church to confirm that we could come. But then I found
out that the meeting had been postponed to August. I was very upset and confused
about the way God answered my prayer. I then tried to fill the open weekend with
another meeting. Nothing happened for weeks. It was not until the Thursday before
the open weekend that Biancas Oma (Grandmother) died. I did not need to do anything with my schedule in order for us to go to the funeral. God had already cleared it
out in advance without me knowing why. I suddenly realized in a very tangible way
that God is in control.
That being said, we have heavy hearts right now because Bianca has had a miscarriage.
We found out three weeks ago that she was pregnant, and we were very excited because it is very difficult for us to have children. We did not have our first child Madeline until eight years after we were married, and it took another six years for this pregnancy. But after three ultrasounds, the doctors confirmed that there was no heartbeat
or growth of the baby. However, we know that God is in control and we trust Him.
