1.2, 3.1, 4.1
Race to the Colosseum is a game that takes all
of the things that the students have learned in
and unit it puts it all together. Depending on
the class size it is possible for the students to
play this game in groups. With smaller groups
students can work together to answer the
questions. Every time a team answers a
certain number of questions correctly they
will get a puzzle piece. Depending on the age
group students will answer either 3 or 4
questions before getting the puzzle piece. As
the teams gain more and more puzzle pieces it

will be put together to reveal a picture of the

Colosseum. Students will all be involved
when it comes to playing this game, by
answering questions and helping to put
together the puzzle.

Assessment (How are you assessing students throughout the lesson?)
With this being the final lesson in the unit, I will be able to see how affective I was with
teaching my lesson.
Differentiation (How are you meeting the needs of different learners?)
The questions vary between giving the English name for an animal, giving the Latin
name for an animal, identifying what Roman numeral is shown, asking questions about
the Circus Maximus and the Colosseum, etc. By having all these different questions it
will allow for students to try and answer questions that they might know.
