#1 I will improve communication and public speaking skills by studying the Toastmasters Competent Communicator guide projects #1 and #2 to
assist me in writing, developing, rehearsing, revising, and delivering speeches. This will be evaluated by delivering 2 speeches in Toastmaster
meetings by April 24th, 2015. Each Speech I will be assigned a Speech Evaluator (Seasoned Member). At least one speech will be attended by
my area supervisor.
#2 I will improve communication and leadership skills by studying the Toastmasters Competent Leadership guide and participating in 6
Toastmaster meetings by April 24th, 2015. I will be evaluated by completing 4 unique roles (excluding Speeches) in these meetings. Each role
will include an evaluation by a club member.

Environmental Report Training- working with Analyst to start writing the annual report.

Started the 2014 Annual trending report. So far I have collected SOP's as well as
documented Deviations and Out of Specification's OOS information for the year pertaining to
Environmental Monitoring. Started to record location maps to be included. I have to
compare to the year prior to note any location changes. Still need to trend data in graphs
quarterly for MAS, APC, Water: TPC, and Conductivity, Differential air pressure, Temperature
and Humidity. Lot to still due and data still to keep up on for upcoming weeks.

as appropriate. Requested information from Quality Control to complete my portion before


we can schedule meetings with pertinent departments. Having to review Desk and Site
Audits for information.
Added more to annual trending report. Finished the location maps and started applying
charts for 1st quarter temperature and humidity monitoring.
Continue to review materials and manufacture site audits. Investigating and creating Risk
Assessment forms. Followed up on request for information from QA/QC database. They have
yet to work on my request but hope to have partial to me this Friday.
Continue on trending report charts. Completed Q1 Air Particulate and Temperature/ Humidity
charts.
Reviewed meeting agenda found out who I will be evaluating. Read Project 1 (Listening) in
Competent Leadership Book. Read over the objectives/ evaluation section for the speech I
will evaluate.
Met with complaint analyst for 2 hours, learning how to review and apply risk assessments
and close complaints. Learned how to calculate a Risk Priority Number using occurrence
frequency, and severities. Also learned about their new script document so consistency in
evaluations is maintained. I have also requested to be added to their assignments in the
following weeks so that I may complete my goal of completing 10 complaint reviews/
assessments. Also will be included is an investigation anticipated to commence in the next
few weeks.
Attended Toastmaster Meeting and performed a role as a speech evaluator for a members
1st speech.
Working on RA's. Had to work with a few people to confirm what information is needed from
another department so they can fulfill my request. I also had to research and add more to
the basic RA lists for the requests to be completed. Also discussed some possible changes to
what and how much needs to be reported.
Finished 1st Quarter of reporting. Continued to 2nd Quarter. The file was too large so I had to
create a separate document for Q2.
Discussed needs with QC technician again. He is being a bit reluctant as a lot of data is
being requested. Spoke with my manager on the situation. Continued with creating more risk
assessment forms minus the information yet to receive from QC.
Finished Quarter 2 2014 annual trending of environmental data. I completed my assigned
portion of the report. I believe this goal is complete and confirmed this with my manager. I
offered if time permits to help finish the last half. I have been cross trained in these tasks
and can be utilized as needed to fulfill the role of environmental data collection and
trending. This took a lot longer and was very tedious than I had anticipated.
Performed Complaint risk analysis for this week under the supervision of the complaint
analyst. We completed 6 complaints
Collected information requested from Research and Development, Purchasing and Quality
Control to complete Risk Assessment Forms. Meeting Scheduled for Thursday.
Completed 8 "Complaint" risk assessments unsupervised. Still have questions as each week
new types of complaints come up. There were a couple in which I had to hand back to the
analyst since they appeared more risk oriented than I feel comfortable handling this far in
my training.
Held Risk Assessments Meeting. Completed 5 RA's including adding them to our document
management system/ hardcopy folder, updating title fields for items and submitting
promotion change requests for the items recommended to be changed. Scheduled next
meeting for 3/16 and requested information on 5 more materials from QC, R&D, and
Purchasing that I will need to compile for the next meeting.
Attended and participated in Toastmaster meeting. Prepped and fulfilled Grammarian role.
Assisted fellow member and listened/ provided feedback on the speech they were scheduled
to deliver in todays meeting.
Mock Recall: Spent time reviewing procedures and work instructions for executing a mock
recall. Checked access in systems not utilized in current responsibilities. Practiced some
reports and tools in Business Objects and Oracle ERP to help assist in mock recall
preparedness.
Risk Assessments: Filled out purchasing information in RA forms submitted to R&D, QC and
Purchasing. Followed up on and sent supervisor update on week priors Risk Assessments
from the meeting.
Performed a speech evaluation of a co-worker's project #3 "Get to the Point". I had another
club member perform my role evaluation. Assisted in helping speaker with his topic,
preparation and practice before he delivered his speech.
Read about speech number 2 in Competent Communicator guide. Looked up speech topic
suggestions and spoke with members about what they did. Brainstormed Ideas and drafting
for Speech #2 "Organize your speech". Created a rough draft outline for the speech. Title
"Organization for the Chronically Disorganized".
Submitted change request to promote material manufacture acceptable level via Agile
Manufacture Change Order workflow. This had to wait while the part had other changes
applied in another request before processing mine. Also sent another request and clarity to
R&D and Quality Control for their information again
Discussed changes to mock recall programs and saved report files. Performed a few reports
for practice assisting Regulatory with a request for their market registrations.
Attended and participated in Toastmaster meeting. Read Competent Leadership Project 4
"Time Management" and fulfilled Timers role for Speeches, Table Topics, and Evaluators in
todays meeting. Evaluated by club member. Was chosen and participated in Table topics
while another member timed for me. I evaluated another club members grammarian role.
Assigned an oral presentation for Anthropology and decided to go a little further and
perform more research for project 7 "Research your Topic" in the competent communicator

book. My topic was about the Black Death and genetic mutations being a possible
evolutionary trait of the survivors. I Also found out that there is speculation that the plague
and or small pox maybe the cause of a protein mutation causing 10% of Europes population
to be immune to HIV and the reoccurring instances of plague had caused the gene
frequency to increase. My mentor for toastmasters is in my class and evaluated me for this
5 minute speech. I included 3 resources when only 1 was required.
Completed 10 complaint risk assessments with assistance on 6 from area manager and
complaint analyst
Received information back on Supplier Risk Assessments from Quality Control Supervisor
and QC Specialist as well as from R&D. Compiled and completed forms for meeting on
Monday.
Held Risk Assessments Meeting. Completed 2 RA's including adding them to our document
management system/ hardcopy folder, updating document management system fields.
Started next round researching information.
Created 5 more Risk Assessment files for the next meeting giving departments time needed
to collect and return information back to me. Scheduled next RA meeting. It is time
consuming determining audit status and material type/ manufacture location among other
items. Also received information on 3 RA's from yesterday and followed up with area
management for plan of action.
Completed 9 complaint risk assessments and still learning new things as not all complaints
are consistent with the past. Developed a new script for a specific product complaint.
Completed 3 more Supplier Risk Assessments and working with area management to get
more RA's scheduled for succeeding meetings.
Scheduled meeting with complaint analyst to work on a complaint investigation to complete
goal. Continuing to assist with complaints weekly. Need to meet with manufacturing
management to perform Root Cause Analysis.
Performed complaint investigation met with manufacturing area discussed root cause and
preventative action.
Performed Mock Recall. Still need to work on final report with analysis and outcomes to be
given to area director. Inventory system went down for 3 hours. Tried another way around
this for those 3 hours until IT got it back up and running.
Reviewing Recall Tallies. Recovered over 100%. Discussed concerns and gaps in processes/
programs as well as discussed possible improvements and planning for future mock recalls
with area supervisor, director and my manager.
2nd Speech scheduled for today canceled. Speech evaluator was ill and they needed a
volunteer to drop. I am working on a Power Point to help guide me through thought as I have
learned notes are a downfall to my speaking skills. I get lost when using them.
Toastmaster meeting attendance and participation. Supplied feedback to speakers, votes,
and evaluated for a speech evaluator.
Completed 10 more Complaint risk assessments. Goals achieved now will continue to assist
weekly to meet hour requirement.
Creating Mock Recall Report. Colleague and I are collecting all the data and reports to create
the final report. Finished raw and tablet data.
Continued to collect data on the 36 finished products we recalled. Had to document current
locations if any and or the customer recall amount and date ranges of that data we pulled.
(Time consuming and a lot of data analysis!)
Complaint Risk Assessments. Completed 22 complaint Risk Assessments. Only had to get
advice on one. All were minor issues.
Worked on and ironed out my power point for my speech on Thursday. Practiced speech a
little
Looked for something to fulfill my role (Thought of the day" for Toastmaster meeting on
Thursday. Found something that works well with my speech. Wrote down thoughts on what I
want to say about it.
Practiced speech
Attended and fulfilled the role "Thought of the day" and presented 2nd speech. Also
evaluated a speech evaluator role.
Worked on Mock Recall Report with Colleague and the supervisor in Charge over complaints.
I ran into some issues on reporting certain things and had to discuss inventory tracking with
Will Call and Shipping departments. This is helping improve the way we do future mock
recalls by knowing who to contact and what information we will need from those
departments.
Completed 24 Complaint Risk Assessment and taught a colleague how to perform this task.
Combined information from R&D,and QC into supply risk assessment forms. Held meeting
and will process 5 assessments thru the document management system on Monday next
week.
Completed goal for supplier risk assessments. I held 3 of 2 meetings the goal asked for and
completed 15 total supplier risk assessments of the 10 stated in the goal. Today I completed
the last 5 from last weeks meeting.
Assisted more time on the mock recall final report with colleagues. Goal considered
complete but still offering assistance.
