What need is this program addressing? If program was hosted at your campus last year, please
include evaluation of the program:

This program will address the need for english proficiency in everyday life. It will assist participants in
becoming english speakers in order to efficiently communicate within the surrounding community.
With an increased ability to communicate in the english language our participants will be more amply
equipped to assist their children enrolled in our schools and to become active participants in our
community.
Describe services to be provided:
Teachers will provide ESL instruction to our participants. The participants will be divided amongst
three groups depending on their needs referencing an initial English assesment. Beginning English
Language Learners, Transitioning English Language Learners and Advance English Language
Learners. The Beginning course offered by 1 teacher and 1 paraproffesional will provide instruction
for participants who are new to the English language. The course will begin instruction focused on
vocabulary acquisition and move to phrases and rules of the English language. The Transitional
course offered by 1 teacher and 1 paraproffesional will continue to increase vocabulary and increase
oral development in the everyday life settings. The Advanced Course offered by 1 teacher and 1
paraproffesional will provide intruction to those with basic knowledge of the English language
grammar and assist them with verb tenses, sentence structures and conversational English. All
participants will also have the opportunity to check in and out a thesaurus to use as reference for
homework and class work given by the teachers. EX. teachers will provide three vocabulary words as
a warm up and participants will find the words on their thesaurus; they will write the defenition and
use it in a sentence. All participants will practice the vocuabulary words in class during planned
conversations. Child care will be split into two groups and will provide children an educational
enviroment through art pojects and lessons on math and english oral development.
