What do I use the Express Scribe Transcription software for?

Use the Express Scribe software to play back the digital audio file
of your interview on your computer so that you can transcribe it.

Does the Express Scribe Transcription software convert the
digital audio file to text for me or do I type the words myself?
Express Scribe does not convert the audio to text. You must type

______________
If I type the words myself, why do I need to use the Express

Express Scribe has two very important features that make
transcribing an audio file much easier:

can slow down the play-back speed.

You can play the digital audio file and listen to it in Express
Scribe while you type using a different software application,
such as Microsoft Word. You don't have to physically switch
back and forth between the program that plays the audio and
the MS Word program.
______________

Can I just type my transcript in the Notes section of the Express

Scribe software?
You can type in the Express Scribe Notes field; however, you would
