MULTI-MEDIA AUTHORING TEMPLATE

Name: Keiliana M. Enarnacion

PART A: Students are able to publish their work using many websites. They are able to make videos and broadcast them so
others are able to (vodcast). For this task, they can use windows live movie maker addressing a standard curriculum for their
grade level. Students creating their own videos can reach LoTi level 5 in which is the level where students make their work
publicly.
Grade Level: 5th Grade
Content Area: Social Studies
Technology Used (check all that apply): Movie Audio Podcast Vodcast Other: (list)
Content Area/Grade/Standards/Topics Addressed:

SS5H4 The student will describe U.S. involvement in World War I and post-World War I
America. a. Explain how German attacks on U.S. shipping during the war in Europe
(1914- 1917) ultimately led the U.S. to join the fight against Germany; include the
sinking of the Lusitania and concerns over safety of U.S. ships, U.S. contributions to
the war, and the impact of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. b. Describe the cultural
developments and individual contributions in the 1920s of the Jazz Age (Louis
Armstrong), the Harlem Renaissance (Langston Hughes), baseball (Babe Ruth), the
automobile (Henry Ford), and the airplane (Charles Lindbergh).
Description of Learning Experience: This learning experience for the students is
to fully get engaged in the project which is researching the history of WWI and post
WWI. Teachers will teach in why America joined the WWI and the accomplishment of
certain events and people after the WWI. Students will then make a video about what
they had learned of WWI and post WWI and make their video with pictures, and if
possible videos as well. They will publish their video onto the website and have family
members or cared ones to see their videos.
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: This LoTi level will reach to 5 for
they have conquered the publishing level and have others view it. Their engagement
in this assignment will be very high for they are using their creative ideas to make
their videos about what they have learned about WWI and after WWI. They will get
the chance to choose their own pictures and/or videos with appropriate copyrighted
audio they choose for their video.
Importance of technology: Technology is definitely critical for this assignment. Podcast and vodcast
would have not been at all possible if no use of technology such as computers, mobile devices,
microphones, and/or smartboards were not available.

Inspiration (optional): If you used existing multimedia projects as a model for your project (whether
in part or whole), include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you borrowed from
others.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: The importance of privacy and internet safety is to be
stressed to the students. Copyrighted materials must be respected. Have students understand with
putting them in that situation in which people wants to use their material without giving them credit
for it.
