Introduction

Static linear analysis of 38m bridge was done in ANSYS using beam188 element type. Dead load of 65ton
was distributed to whole FE model and live load of 55ton was applied on main deck. MS-A36 material
properties were assumed. Yeild stress of 2.5e+8 Pa was assumed. ANSYS shows that based on current FE
model it is safe with FOS of approx. 172 in axial stress and FOS of approx. 289 in compressive bending
stress. Figures of results are self explanatory.
