Vision Statement
The improvement of instruction, student growth and achievement is the primary strategic
direction for the Puyallup School District; and is supported by ensuring equitable access to
technology resources and tools. We will know district staff are intentionally integrating current
and available technology that supports this strategic direction when:
1. Teachers and other district staff demonstrate a commitment to, and evidence of advancing
learning through the use of technology methods and tools aligned with on-going
development of best practices.
2. District staff are able to access the necessary technology and related resources wherever
and whenever needed.
5. Parents and community members use tools to stay connected to the district, with an
understanding of items impacting their student(s), their school(s), and the district as a
whole.
Foundational Principles
1. If teachers and other staff develop confidence in the usage of, and have access to
emerging technologies, then integration of technology will occur in instruction to support
student learning and achievement.
2. If students have access to modern technology they will use these tools to engage in
learning in preparation for college or their career.
3. If parents and community members feel welcomed, informed and involved in students
education through the use of technology; then they will encourage and assist students to
explore learning opportunities, thereby aiding in the students success.
