Teach

Show students the agenda and explain its function.

Teach students to reference the agenda when they have questions or

wonderings about our schedule.

Rehearse
I will ask students questions about our posted agenda for the day so that
they can reference it and read the picture words to answer. Throughout
the day I will show how we move from each event on our agenda as our day
moves along.
Reinforce
In the morning I will tell students to read the agenda for the day. If
students have questions about our schedule I will refer them to the agenda.
It will help with the many, Is it time to go home yet? questions.

response.

Teach

Tell students the this procedure needs to be done quietly so it doesnt disrupt the class.

Show students the pencil stations and the designated bins for dull or broken pencils and sharpened
pencils.

Tell students that if they are in need of a sharpened pencil they will quietly and quickly replace their
pencil.

They are to put their dull/broken pencil in the correct bin.

Tell them they do this by quietly leaving their seat with their pencil and replacing it.

If another student is at the station they should wait. As to not cause a traffic jam and less temptation
to talk to a classmate.

Rehearse
Model the procedure for the students.
Have many student volunteers practice the procedure.
Have multiple students volunteer at a time so that they can see that they should wait if someone happens
to be at the station.
Reinforce
Thank students that follow the procedure when they need to replace their pencil.

Teaching Philosophy

The students are seen as the focus of education and not the teacher
should be a guide to the students and accompany them on the
journey through their education.

It is important to adapt the curriculum or activity that is being taught

to the academic, social, and physical needs of the student.

In doing this the teacher, her students, and the curriculum will all
work together to promote the most learning.

Getting students involved and making them aware of the purpose for
learning the lesson being taught and connect it with their lives it will
get them interested and engaged in their learning.

Getting to know my students as individuals and learners is very

important so that connecting the content to their lives will be
relevant and motivate them to learn it.

Developing the student as a whole person is important and a part of

their intellectual growth.
