2. Objectives:
SWBAT- Recognize many sight words throughout different activities
SWBAT- Understand that knowing our sight words is important for reading
SWBAT- Create sight words out of matching cards
3. Materials: Smartboard, Rice filled water bottles (6), dice (6), papers to log words on,
practice pages, crayons, pencils, coloring sheets, high frequency word flash cards,
youtube, sight word matching cards
4. Procedures:
Today we will be
- Learning two new sight words
- Reviewing some of our sight words through discussion, writing, coloring, and
other fine motor skills
By the end of the lesson you will be able to
- Recognize new sight words (play, not)
- Easily recognize other sight words from our list
All of our activities today will help us improve our reading skills. Knowing our
high frequency words/sight words helps us become much stronger readers! The
more we practice, the easier they become.
