I am writing in regards to Whitney Coppinger.

I have had the privilege to experience

Whitneys teaching and professionalism first hand being her co-teacher in the 5th grade inclusion
classroom at Walker Elementary School. During my time as Whitneys co-teacher, I have been
able to observe the intense professionalism and incredible knowledge base that she displays in
working with students. She is definitely that unique teacher who exhibits a combination of not
only being gifted academically but has the ability to implement her knowledge and creativity
within the classroom environment. Consequently, her students achieve great success and
benefit from getting to experience who she is.
Whitney is a master teacher. She is a teacher who recognizes student ability levels and
can skillfully plan for each individual students success. Having years of experience in state
tested grade levels has shaped her into a teacher who uses all resources available to meet the
upmost standards required by the district, the state, and the integrity with which she holds
herself accountable. Her teaching is relevant and advanced. She masterfully creates a learning
environment that engages students in this technologically driven and fast paced world while
helping them learn all that is needed to grow into a successful adult. Student learning and
achievement is a given with Whitney involved in the process.
Whitney is also an asset to the staff and associates with whom she is teaching. Being
one of the teachers who successfully piloted the inclusion/co-teaching program for CISD has
given her great experience in working with other colleagues to help them also succeed. On
numerous occasions, Whitney has flawlessly demonstrated the requirements and strategies
necessary to implement co-teaching in the classroom to other teachers on her campus and
within her district. Her ability to teach the teacher is only countered by her ability to also learn
from them. It is this kind of teamwork approach with other teachers and her co-workers that
have made her such an asset to the staff on which she serves.
Finally, it is evident that Whitney Coppinger is an outstanding asset to the teaching
profession. Whether teaching children or co-workers, Whitneys passion for learning is only
rivaled by her passion to see others succeed. Her deep desire to continue to excel in her own
professional life is directly mirrored by her desire for students and co-worker to succeed and
grow. With Whitney Coppinger involved, success is not just a reality, it is a necessity.
Sincerely,
Katherine Cox, M. Ed.
