Adolf Hitler Biography

Adolf Hitler was a German politician and the leader of the Nazi party. He was born
on April 20, 1889 in Braunau, Austria. His early childhood was quite harsh
because of his father Alois. His father was a strict man and he insisted that young
Adolf should become a civil servant like himself. But when Adolf was 13 years
old, his father died and he was free to pursue his dream of becoming a great artist.
In 1905, Hitler moved to live in Vienna and applied for the academy of fine arts.
Unfortunately, he was rejected twice. Vienna at that time was a place full of
traditional religious prejudice and racism, historians believed that is where he
developed his anti-Semitic thoughts. On January of 1907, Hitler's mother, Klara, was
diagnosed with breast cancer. The doctor who examined her was a Jewish and
recommended extreme treatments. His mother couldn't overcome the cancer and died on
December, Hitler was filled with grief. Feeling depressed, Hitler decided to stop aiming
to become an artist and joined the military. He was given the job as a messenger during
the World War I and he did his job well. But his luck ran out in 1916, when he was
wounded and sent back to Germany. There he was surprised to see anti-war protests
involving Jews and he blamed the Jews for this because he saw them as the ones
responsible to spread the unrest and weaken the German war effort. In disgust of the
Jews, he volunteered to go back to the battlefront. And when the Germans were losing the
war, Hitler also believed that those Jews were the invisible
enemy of the army. After the war, his hatred for the Jews had
grown a lot. In 1919 Hitler joined the German Workers' Party
which would become the Nazi party in 1920. Hitler surprised
everyone with his extremely emotional speaking and
influence. During the first few months of 1920, Hitler had
given many speeches and gained a lot of popularity. He
eventually left the army and work full time as a politician.
Because of his highly effective speaking, he became the Party's leader in 1921. During
the Great Depression, Hitler knew his opportunity has come. The German
people were tired of the old and useless party and they finally voted for
Adolf Hitler. In 1933, Hitler was appointed as the chancellor of Germany.
And now the Jewish Holocaust begins, led by Hitler, six million Jews were
killed. One year after becoming chancellor, he became the president and
took full control as a dictator. In 1939, German Nazis started occupuying
Poland which marked the start of World War II, and in December 1941,
Hitler declared war against the U.S. Later into the war, Hitler knew that he
was going to lose. He then decided that a losing country does not deserve to survive and
ordered the destruction of German buildings and infrastructure, although the order was
not fully obeyed. And in April 30,1945 in an attempt to avoid being captured alive, Adolf
Hitler commited suicide.
