INTRODUCTION

The basic financial statements i.e., the

Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss A/c or
Income Statement of business reveals the
net effect of various transactions on
operational and financial position of the
company. The balance sheet gives a
summary of the assets & liabilities of an
undertaking at a particular point of time.

Need for the study.

This project work is an endeavor to note, absorb

and imbibe the style of the corporate sector, far

from the academic exercise.
It is necessary to study the financial management
practices in SOLVAY VISHNU BARIUM PRIVATED
LIMITED.
This project work is an attempt to get acquainted
with various facts of short-time finance
management.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

To analyze the changes in working capital position

of the company.
To evaluate changes in assets and liabilities of
the company.
To find the operating efficiency of company

SCOPE OF THE STUDY:

The scope of the study is defined below in

terms of concepts adopted and period under

focus.
Thirdly, the study is based on the annual
reports of the company for a period of 4
years from 2007-2011. Due to time
constraint the study period is restricted.
The purpose of the project is to analyses
the past and present performance of the
company on various financial areas .

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:

The data collected has been limited only 4

years financial Annual Reports.

The information available in the balance sheet
has been taken from the published Annual
Reports. So, it has its own limitations in the
form of non-availability of information of
Exceptional Transactions.
