IT IS CRUCIAL TO OUTLINE YOUR ESSAY BEFORE
WRITING IT
Dont waste time with filler or fluff sentences and dont
write a conclusion paragraph just one sentence, it
wastes time and encourages redundancy

General Writing Tips

Answer the question being asked dont just make a laundry list of information
you know about the piece(s)

Write out whole words (especially numbers under ten) and avoid abbreviations

If you forget the title, make sure you include a specific description to identify the
work youre talking about

Avoid words such as very, so, or really.

Avoid absolutes:
no should be replaced with little or very little
always should be replaced with usually or generally
very should be replaced with somewhat
proves should be replaced with supports / suggests
none should be replaced with lack of
