To Whom It May Concern,

It is a privilege to write this letter as a Recommender for Prince-Russell Cameron
Johnson, who is applying to become prom royalty. As an Instructional Coach with the
Kansas City, KS Public Schools (KCKPS), I have known Prince for two years at
Wyandotte High School. Based on my observations, he impresses me as a young man
who exhibits a responsible and pleasant demeanor. He meets deadlines, displays skills of
leadership, and works cooperatively with others. He is an exceptional individual who
demonstrates a strong commitment to education, the Performing Arts, and
leadership/community service. As a senior at Wyandotte High School, Prince
demonstrates commendable work ethics and sound judgment. In one word, I would say
that Prince is resilient! Obstacles do not deter him and he pushes himself to succeed
despite adversity. He knows how to get the job done and to do so with excellence!
Examples of Princes disposition are noted by his varied scholarship and
community service experiences. Documented activities include leadership roles with the
United Way District Back-to-School rallies; tutoring students at the Wyandotte High
School Writing Center; and promoting leadership through the Kansas City Kansas
Keystone Boys/Girls Club Program. In addition, Prince volunteers with his church youth
group and in the community by distributing supplies for Back-to-School initiatives with
the Kansas City, Kansas Public schools.
Specific to the Performing Arts, Prince has been recognized as an accomplished
vocalist as a finalist for the 2014 Kansas City Superstar Singing Competition; Second
Division Award Regional Music Festival; KCDA Statewide Treble Honor Choir;
Director of the Wyandotte High School choirs (Fall Semester 2014); guest performer for
the district convocations and also for the Media and Music Matters (MAMM)
multicultural program.
Academically, Prince has a 3.6 GPA and his schedule currently includes college
level coursework. On a personal note, his role of leadership and responsibility extend
beyond the school and community, as he is a significant influence in his home in helping
his parents to raise his younger siblings.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Prince. As evidence by his hard work and
strong commitment, I feel he would be a positive candidate for the position of Youth of
the Year. If you should need any additional information, please feel free to contact me

Sincerely
Cheryl Wright, Ph.D.
